I came here for the romance but was awestruck by the cinematography instead. This has been a heartfelt journey with beautiful slow-burn romance that gradually matured like fine wine. I just love how the director pay extra screentime to highlight those emotional scenes, which were so soul-crushing and deeply engraved upon my heart. I'll come back from time to time to rewatch those. The leads were so endearing, especially ml, and the story was very eventful and filled with thrillers, as opposed to what i had expected initially. I skipped alot of propaganda scenes and side characters' parts though.

Btw, lol i didn't expect ml to turn into John Wick :v

i really hate it when writers make FLs into damsels in distress / bummers who spill and whine about their sob stories for no reason, especially when they and their male counterparts are not that close yet. It feels forced and makes me cringe, as if FLs were trying to fish for pity from MLs (¬_¬)

on ep4 and ML is so nosy and disrespectful (¬_¬) . Dropped.

A rare gem this is. I find ML so endearing and well-written, precisely because of is childishness, hot temper, and emotional vulnerabilities, especially when it comes to FL. Those flaws resonate with me a lot.

I see, but my interpretation on this scene is totally different. I get a lot of viewers are sold by this scene, but I'm not one of them. I'm a sucker for angst and I'm against unequal sufferings, so when I saw that dream i found it so anticlimactic, as in my head i was screaming "Dude your future wife just died saving you, especially after you brutally broke her heart, while you're here frolicking and having a blast aka the best time of your life!" :v . I get that he was devastated, but it only lasted for like not even half a day, and then he was in bliss for another half, next he woke up teeming with hope. You see, unequal agony and no angst for me, only frustration and disappointment.

(irrelevant to this drama but I was traumatized by Love & Redemption because ML spat too much blood and suffered substantially more than FL. I hated it when Ye Hua in TMOPB restrained Bai Qian and went up sacrificing alone. I dropped LLTG because FL's past grievances were addressed by another grievance lol. So you see where i came from) ~(˘▾˘~)

Final ep but ML's acting kinda fell short (¬_¬)

On ep 26 and my heart actually aches for 2ML :< . He has more depth than ML imo.

I totally agree that they just don't seem to be the type. I'm not saying he's not smart. I'm saying he's not fit for romantic dramas. The chemistry between the leads is very unnatural and stale. In fact i think they barely have any spark during their interactions. That's why i said i wish the romance didn't happen, cuz it felt so forced and so so cringey, and it ruins the investigation aspect for me. I'd rather have them becoming best comrades-in-arms. I also agree that they are reasonable. But when FL became subservient, she lost me there.

I know he was coping. The thing is, if he really was in denial, I would be swimming in the river of my tears instead of complaining here, nor would i be underwhelmed and disappointed. It's not that he refuses to believe FL was already gone; he truly believed that FL was still alive, and he truly experienced bliss instead of anguish. He was truly in blissful ignorance, and although he was unknowingly dying, he wasn't aware of his impending demise nor FL's sacrifice. By the time the dream was over, his momentary grief was also gone and replaced by hope. I know I should be happy that he's alright and that he recovers quickly, but in the back of my mind I can't help but feel it was unfair to FL, cuz the blissful dream took away the impact of her death, took away the opportunity for Dylan to show off his acting skill that pierced through my heart like his previous crying scene 🥺. That's why i said it fell short.

is this low-budgeted? I came here because of Dylan, but main characters have taken the term "annoying" to the next level lol. FL is such a bland and wishy-washy girl. The plot doesn't make sense to me, and dialogues are just downright nonsensical and cheesy. The only good thing is the chemistry lol. If you can turn off your brain and put up with massive amount of corny, ridiculous screenwriting and super forced and embarrassing lines that FL spews, then maybe you can enjoy this.

I see. I don't have anything against the duration, and I'm okay with the allotted time for the dream grief, but it tragically lacks impact. My point is that it's not about the duration. It's about the fact that they picked the wrong scene for grief. I mean, suicide by dreaming? C'mon 😆! ML is not Rose from Titanic passing away at old age. They had to use the most blissful way to portray his pain. The idea is more laughable than angsty. I can hardly feel any angst at all.

Regarding the leads' chemistry, their romance feels utterly forced and cringey. After ML's super contrived and embarrassing confession i think i just wasted a day of my life only to end up wanting to cry in a corner and bang my head against the wall in exasperation and secondhand embarrassment. I was waiting patiently for their romance to bloom, but then when it did i sincerely wish it hadn't, cuz at least i could have still enjoyed the investigation aspect of the series. I'd rather watch a non-romantic drama with only case-solving content than watching FL repeatedly lowering her value to accommodate ML and getting offended by ML without even feeling offended. She has no self-esteem whatsoever.

In terms of characters, ML's acting is wooden and emotionless, and Wang Zi Qi was unable to turn his robotic & uptight character into someone i can relate. My impression of ML after 25 eps remains unchanged: a puny mechanical character who only knows how to use logic and reason but totally falls short when it comes to expressing feelings. Meanwhile, FL only knows how to obediently cater to ML's temper and doesn't know her own value. They are capable though, and behave in a mature manner for the first half of the drama.

Lastly, i don't think Wang Zi Qi should participate in romantic dramas in the future. This is the second drama starring him that i dropped. I guess he's just not cut out for romance.

on ep23 and FL's inability to get mad at ML is just beyond me! ML unreasonably lost his temper at her and did her wrong many times, but instead of feeling offended, she always bows her head and apologizes to him instead. I liked her initially for her perceptiveness and understanding, but this then turns into subservience, which vexes the hell outta me. That said, at least the investigation was good so far.
