Mango TV subs are so bad. The dialogue says Third Uncle, while the subs say Father😭 No wonder viewers are confused.

He could hate because this man keeps pointing out he isn't really a Chen by blood. Probably bullied him throughtout the years. Plus CXQ got first olace while being younger than him who failed repeatedly.

If I understand correctly, Chen Xuan Qing was adopted into the family under the Fifth Brother's name, who died as a child, likely to have a son who offers him incense and remembers him on important occassions. Those with better Chinese than me may confirm this.

I love the interactions between ML and FL. She may be young and inexperienced but she's by no means stupid XD

I like Wang Herun but it seems the director and script want her to act a certain way. Probably to make her character a foil for ML who is more morally grey. It's a shame that it tones down what made FL's character so attractive in the first arc.

Enjoying Xiao Shun Yao and Riley Wang's roles in this drama. It's nice to see them play a different character for once

I love the OST. The vocal songs fit the mood and plot.

The problem is with the script and the way this scene is shot. We're told she can't stand injustice and that her "Dao Heart" is unstable because she keeps interfering in mortal affairs. The scene should have been more emphatic or charismatic but it comes off as flat.

Ep.15: struggling to get through this medicine valley arc and FL's self-righteousness. It could have been done in a more engaging way but it was just her being arrogant and lecturing others.

I'm curious how they'll adapt this into a drama. Many things will have to be changed but as long as the core remains then it should be an entertaining watch.
