Title The Red Sleeve Spoiler
Just finished yesterday too.Why did they have to lose the child too? Just made it a ton more heartbreaking :(
Really helpful to accept and understand the ending, that it was based on real historical characters.

Sorrowing ending. Great drama. Not sure if I'd watch if the ending was like this. But the ending was still lovable.
Can't they at least make one of their child alive? Dong Yi was like that.

Yes, it's too old. It's wuxia + fantasy, which means there are fight scenes are there are visual effects. Neither of those were particularly good in China in 2015, but has improved only in recent 3-4 years.
Take a look at Eternal Love from 2017, a big budget xianxia, and the monsters are just hilarious, like stop motion from the 1940's. Fast forward to 2020 in Eternal Love of Dream, and it's a totally different feeling.
You can try playing the trailer available, it looks a bit dated.

It's one of those I call "a pillow watch cdrama", where you can watch on your phone in bed before sleeping (if you do that sometimes). Even if you fall asleep watching you don't miss much. It's comedic enough to not be boring, but don't expect a masterfully written drama, the script and plot are very simple, and the main story is simply the gender hiding part and romance while everything else is mostly a sidestory.

Yea, the FL did a good job, really the only memorable character. The always topless general was memorable too, but only because of that reason.
There are a few great chinese comedies, I especially liked My Unicorn Girl, one of my favorite cross-dressing cdramas.

This drama has way too many episodes, nearly 60, and I don't feel like many of the episodes have much material value for the story. Way too long and the story is hard to grasp.

One of those easy to watch silly costume romcom cdramas that doesn't take itself too seriously. It's perfectly enjoyable, but don't expect some masterpiece.

Only halfway thru, but the FL does seem to have only one feature, she can sometimes do mediocre kung fu, other than that her character doesn't seem to special in any way, just yet another whining princess. :/

Such a great actor. I got to know him from Empress Ki as eunuch Golta, never forgot his villainess, and he strikes back in Alchemy of Souls.

Naksu's origanal body was burnt in S1.
Yes, but I remember discussion about whether it could be brought back to live with the ice crystal, like they did with the eunuch in s1.

Finally one episode left. It's not a very engaging story. I don't know why I managed to watch it. It's not very bad, but no the best either. Mediocre romance drama really.
