Most Xianxia dramas have 5 second endings but LBFAD was the worst. They got all of us hyped about the fact that they were releasing special episodes only to give us those voiceovers 😑

I agree. It doesn't make sense for the show to have this much comedy only to have a bad ending. Another reason why I think this show is going to have a happy ending is because the author of the novel released a special epilogue with a happy ending a day after the show started airing. She could have done it at any time before the show's airdate but she didn't so it could be a deal with the showrunners to drive up hype for the show and increase book sales/readership. They might have consulted her too during the script writing process so my theory is that the show's ending would basically end the same with the new ending of the book.

When LBFAD was airing there was so much speculation that it would have a SE too but it ended up being a HE. But if this turns out to be a SE then Youku might probably make some special episodes like they did for Immortal Samsara

The only similarity they have is just the sword dance scenes

No problem! Like someone explained below, heat index also depends on the number of subscribers. If they continue to produce good shows, their subscribers and also the heat index would go up too

I think Immortal Samsara did reach 10k and yes it can go higher but it's very rare for dramas to exceed 10k. The Knockout got 11k index last month though it's an Iqiyi drama but I believe Iqiyi and Youku uses a similar method of calculating heat index. Tencent on the other hand probably uses a different method of calculating because I've seen posts about dramas like Chong Zi and Three Body hitting 23k heat index

From the trailers for the next 2 episodes, we're going to have lots of comedic scenes. I just love how this show balances the angst and the comedy without being too melodramatic.

They're doing a very good job at attracting international viewers. I don't know who manages their Tiktok account but that person is a marketing genius. Their tiktoks are so much better than that of other streaming platforms
