Probably a mix of both. But he was going along with SL just fine until he became interested in FX.
The relationship was flawed from beginning, even if FX wasnt pouring gasoline over the fire, they probably wouldn’t have lasted. LZ felt like he couldn’t be himself around YS because YS is quite proper, etc. And than the bit where LZ mentioned that he couldnt really connect with YS was true. The novel mentions a couple times how LZ saw things in FX he couldn’t get from YS, but in the end LZ is a materialist, he likes being spoiled, getting expensive gifts, etc. If it wasn’t FX than it might have been somebody else or LZ would eventually move on.
Valid? I found it more as kicking a man even more when he was already down. They were together for two years,…
No in my opinion he didn’t, he flirted back sure. But he told FX openly that he had a partner, that FX should move away, create some distance between them, stop being clingy. Even when he was drugged, his muddled thoughts were still with LZ. Can’t really say the same thing about LZ. But maybe I’m just biased towards YS

Even if YS agreed on it, was it reasonable to say all that? Why didn’t LZ mention it during the relationship, than YS could still have done something against it. To me it felt more like LZ was trying to get rit of the guilt he felt towards YS and so he lashed out. And I also got the impression it hurt or bothered YS, otherwise why was he mulling over those words why getting drunk? Either way the relationship broke because LZ got swayed by FX.
ÍTS HIM'....He is the one responsible for everything; from your assault to your break up... MAN I THINK MY SCREEN…
Valid? I found it more as kicking a man even more when he was already down. They were together for two years, were supposed to go abroad to get married, yet Lu Zhen had no problems canceling those plans for a stranger. If Lu Zhen felt all those things why didnt he mention them before to Shulang.
Didn’t you hear when he get the call that he was playing to see if Shu will get emotional and open to him when…
From how I read the novel, he was in fact sincere about his feelings and his trauma, but he just exaggerated his emotions a bit more.
The translation of the novel was that Shi Lihua asked Fan aren’t you afraid of triggering your condition again and having a relapse, Fan answered with it’s already triggered. Shi response with holy fuck, how are you sounding so calm right now. And Fan than explains that he can’t keep running forever, since I’m going to try and try taking steps forward, I might as well play up my misery a little in front of him while I’m at it.
I read that as a fan was triggered by trauma and resurfacing memories, but he just made it look worse in front of Shulang to gain sympathy.
You really think it’s going to be Shulang who cheats on Lu Zhen?
It was more of a question as to how somebody still can think that Shulang, who so far has shown to be very loyal towards Lu Zhen, is the one who will cheat.
I do agree that I think Lu Zhen his behavior isnt anything to write home about, he definitely crossed a couple lines. Especially with the whole lying about why he had to cancel plans to meet a guy he barely knows, long lasting future plans as they mentioned they wanted to get married abroad. Yes I feel sorry for Shulang too, he doesn’t deserve it, even though he does flirt with Fan Xiao, he’s been quite clear, he has a partner. Mentioned a couple times that Fan Xiao should create some distance and stop being so clingy. Lu Zhen hasnt even mentioned he has a partner, indirectly reducing his relationship to Shulang as family, not to mention what happened in this last episode. When Shulang is drugged to feel lust, his muddled thoughts were still with Lu Zhen, can’t say the same thing about Lu Zhen.
Seeing as it was a big part of the novel, I can’t even imagine them leaving it out. This series isn’t for the faint of hearts, if you don’t feel comfortable, you don’t have to watch. I’ll say this though, if you didn’t like Hua Yong (Desire) you probably will not like Fan Xiao.
I expected this kind of reaction. But why are people expecting green flags from Chinese BLs. As if Chi Cheng didn’t…
If we go look even further there have been so many red flags, The Untamed had Wei Wuxian, Word of Hony had Wen Kexing, Meet you at the Blossom had Huai En. This ML isn’t the first toxic lead and won’t be the last. Like i said I don’t condone it, but I also can’t hide the fact that I like finally seeing mature, adult series, instead of the constant fluff Thailand is continually making and airing.
dropping the series asap because of the SA scene. i know insane fans will justify the male lead's behaviour &…
Please do, you don’t have to watch every series or every BL! Before this series even started there have been a lot of warnings that this series wasnt for the faint of hearts. I hope you find something that you like more.
I just finished ep 36 and my face is all red and puffy from all the ugly crying. Wen Kexing’s truth confession…
There is an episode 37 or not really a whole episode, but more like a small scene, which maybe helps you with your pain. I think it might be on YouTube. And yes he did say I Love You, but rumors have it, it was removed because of the censorship.
So let’s get one thing clear, I don’t condone what Fan Xiao did. But there has been multiple warnings from people here on MDL (who have for example read the novel), on social media even Gaga made a trigger warning in their social media pages that this episode was going to have non consensual scenes. Even before this series started multiple people (including me) have said, “hey this series is not for the faint of heart, if you didn’t like Hua Yong for what he did, you will not like Fan Xiao”. I think most on this page are not praising Fan Xiao, we just knew what to expect. Especially those who read the novel. I do think this MDL should have the non consensual or SA tag added on. So my question is did you not read those comments? Did you think it would be an exaggeration?

BTW I read the novel 😉
