Because for Jaemin it was all just a game, he liked the push and pull from Da On, he liked that he could manipulate Da On. He’s like a hunter chasing his prey, what fun would it be if the prey just came walking towards him instead of running away. And the fact that Jaemin was never entirely convinced that Da On loved him wholeheartedly. According to Jaemin, Da On fals in love to easily. The reason why Jaemin flipped was because he realized that Da On started to completely pull away from him, he was losing control of Da On after Ju Seong Hyeon showed up. A person who could love Da On easily, unconditionally and without stress.

Because they both wanted Da On, but also wanted the other one to stay away from Da On. So instead of just opening up about their emotions like adults, they decided to go that route.

I remember how you wrote entire character explanations on the MDL page of Secret Relationship, it was fun and interesting to read. Sometimes series don’t need adaptations or remakes, they are great all on their own.

I’ve stopped expecting or hoping for messy, toxic, dark, mysterious and emotional intense series from Thailand. Revamp confirmed it for me once again, but China has apparently risen to that challenge and I’m very satisfied with the Chinese BL series. So done with these always fluff and immature series from Thailand.

This is what I said on social media, in the original poster you could already feel the tension between the characters and that there was a storyline to tell. Jeamin’s hand possessive on Da On’s shoulder. Ju Seong Hyeon smiling, having his face towards to sun, which is fitting for his character. And Kim Su Hyeon looking angry in his eyes. The poster alone made you excited to watch it. I’ve been apprehensive about this remake ever since I heard it, they should leave this one alone. It was already such a banger, it doesn’t need a remake or adaptation.

I’ve gotten to the point that I have very little trust or faith in that they will give the novel justice. With the Korean one I was on the edge of my seat, discussing days after days on MDL what the characters would do or what made them like that. I couldnt wait until the next episode. 8 episodes each 20 minutes yet it was my all time favorite BL series of 2025, they told the story with tension, thrill and excitement in a bit more then 2.5 hours.

This new poster is giving RomCom vibes, it’s giving Fourever You and Perfect 10 Liners. None of the vibes of the Korean version.

Those curse words are honestly hilarious, did you ask ChatGBT for them? If you don’t like watching dark romance or toxic red flag characters, why are you watching that genre? I hate horror, I don’t go looking for it. I especially don’t watch it and then start complaining about how much I hated it. People are trying to understand what makes a character like LF tick, that doesn’t mean they are agreeing or glorifying his behavior! It isn’t about criticism, it’s about the fact that you can’t even have discussions about a character’s behavior or personality without being labeled a freaking rape defender or glorifying rape, abuse, etc. The morality police is getting out of hand.

Did you not read the part where they say that they are trying to get the diagnosis of Bipolar, which means they clearly are talking to a professional! Don’t be so preachy.

The series has reduced the way Day “handled” Itt (and his punishment of Itt) to the maximum, compared to the novel. The novel is truly not for the faint of hearts, I don’t know if you remember how during the series Day finds his old phone and there is a video of him practically beating Itt up, pouring beer over him. That punishment’ was completely different in the novel, it was very graphic, very sexual abusive, multiple rapes, for days. Day kidnapped Itt for weeks, not allowing him to go home. At some point Itt gets attached to Day and later the same can be said fof Day. It turns into a truly Stockholm Syndrome story, Day is far worse then Lu Feng, even if he mellowed a bit with more time passing. Love Syndrome 3 is the life action of the third novel. By then I think 5 or 7 years passed after they first met.

This! Not the mention the numerous warnings that have been everywhere on Social Media. It was the same with Desire and To My Shore, warnings everywhere that these series aren’t all lovey dovey, aren’t for the faint of hearts. Hell all the tags on the MDL pages should tell you enough, but still people are somehow surprised about how toxic these series truly are.

Especially here on MDL, if you try and share your opinion on what you think makes LF tick, you are very quickly called a person who just excuses away rape or a rapist defender. There used to be a time where you could share any of your opinions of a series and people were still respectful. Now it feels like you have to walk on eggshells when you write a opinion, not to negative, not to positive. Hell the guy from Secret Relationship was ready to kill his crush because he didn’t reciprocate his feelings, yet even on that page people could talk about it respectfully.

I agree! Somebody convinced me to read the novel, I was not ready for that. What he did to Itt in the beginning was a nightmare, I always thought that Itt was the one who had Stockholm Syndrome.

I can understand YC somewhat, when I was younger (17 I’m now 35) I loved somebody my family didn’t approve of. I ended up going no contact with my siblings for years and almost with my parents until they realized that by trying to separate us, they would end up losing me too.

But I live in a western country where there aren’t that many social expectations when it comes to families. YC has the pressure of all that, being a good son, being a good sibling. He doesn’t want his family to be a pariah, doesnt want to bring shame to the family. Not to mention the entire country being homophobic. Him coming out and choosing to be with another man would make all that even worse, you need to be very strong mentally to get through all that. And for a people pleaser like YC that is practically impossible.

But having said all that, it was LF that had to deal with knowing YC would choose him last always, knowing he just wasn’t ever important enough, knowing he was being abandoned by the one he loved and would give everything for time and time again. It was LF who had to deal with promises and trust being broken. That does change a person fundamentally.

Do I agree with LF’s treatment of YC, no I absolutely don’t, but I do understand some of it. I think if I had abandoned my loved one back then and came back after years and years, he wouldn’t have even given me the time of day. And if he had, I don’t think his behavior would’ve been all accepting of me without anger. I probably would’ve been doing a lot of apologizing, groveling and showing it in my actions I was sincere.

Both characters are stubborn and unwilling to communicate about their issues. Both want each other, but can’t let go of the past. Both are hurt and hurt people, hurt people. I can’t help but see part of their relationship as Sadist/Masochist, Dom/sub. It does explain or give reason why YC decided to go back to LF and decided to stay (until the brother arrived).

Time will tell if they can heal together.

Personally I don’t know how they could heal, I think they both deserve somebody else. LF needs therapy and somebody who will put him first and gives that security. Who will accept the possessiveness and jealousy LF has, who can handle his aggression better. And YC deserves somebody who will treat him gentle, who can accept that for YC the responsibilities towards his family will always have his highest priority.

They both are toxic together, both want and expect different things from the other, either one has to compromise or theyll keep hurting each other.

Bringing a gun to a conversation is not normal, wanting to shoot a person is not normal, then shooting a person because you are angry (without any physical provocation, so no self defense) is not normal!

try Revenged Love (pretty hyped up for good reasons), Desire (Omegaverse), Blue Canvas Of Youthful Days (trigger warning physical abuse by parent), To My Shore (including the special episode), Journey With You (period drama, ongoing), Double Helix (ongoing, remake of A Round Trip to Love), Meet You At The Blossom (period), Kill to Love (period), Sammy’s Children Day (season 2 is supposed to be made this year, apparently season one is only 1/3 of the novel), those were all great to excellent series.

Just don’t expect Thai BL when it comes to the NC scenes, except for maybe Revenged Love because those two did not hold back, I would recommend watching the behind the scenes of that show on YT. The NC are still a bit censored.

I will say, Chinese BL seems to have taken on a challenge for every new series, there is a greater red flag character. Most of these series are either on Viki and/or Gaga. There are so many more series to mention and are still new ones being made, but those I mentioned did stand out to me.

It is Chinese BL, it just only gets aired internationally, that way they don’t go through the censorship. Sometimes the series are made between countries, but usually the actors are mostly all Chinese.

As somebody who watched FoF, the romance is barely present, yes they added a female lead but after episode 17 she has less and less scenes. I personally think they only added a FL because otherwise it would’ve been a very strong bromance, and would’ve been banned from airing. It’s a very strong Bromance between the two male leads, kind of an enemies to lovers vibe. But I’ve seen people say there are multiple ships in this show, you have the great bromance between the two ML’s, you have a sismance beteeen the FL and 2FL and you have a bromance-ish between the two younger 2ML’s. And then you have the failed romance between ML and FL (they don’t even have a kiss scene). For me I got so annoyed with the FL, because like you I like strong female leads. Thats why I was so glad that her scenes were less and less. It is a very beautiful story, as a Bromance you’ll love it.

Going to be honest, this series started out really great, loved the moments between the ML’s. But for me it went down hill fast around episode 7, when the support couple was introduced. To many plotholes, to many random storylines start without finishing one first. The whole premise of who killed the Azura dragon (XLY’s boss) and XLY’s sister never gets solved, which personally I thought the series was going to end on. XLY getting arrested and the storyline of the two ML’s just ends there, like seriously? I get they are building on making a season 2, but with it being a CBL there is so much doubt if there is ever going to be another season. Onl1y for You also did this, banking on there being a season 2 and it never happened. Besides that, the cinematography was beautiful, the using of light and colors was well executed throughout the series. I loved both ML’s acting, a lot of micro-expressions, which was needed at certain scenes. I think i would’ve liked it more if, the series was longer, with decent introductions of the support couple, storylines that actually make sense and don’t start random.

Im half way through episode 16 and I don’t know if I want to continue. I loved the first 13 or so episodes. But after FL returned to the palace everythihg changed for me. I loved her free in that village with the family she build, in the palace it feels like she is locked up in a golden cage. Not to mention the fact that she just jumps back into being the daughter and sister of the king and cousin. I don’t like how they overwhelmed her with memories, to the point where it felt like she was reliving traumas at every corner. I don’t like how she not even there for like two days and both father and cousin are already pushing her to acknowledge them. Like let the girl breathe.

But what I most of all don’t like is the fact that FL doesnt have any chemistry with her cousin or with Shiqi. FL doesnt seem to love Shiqi even though she is saying she’ll wait 15 years.

The only one I truly like for FL is Xiang Liu. Even though their start was very rough, he willingly changed for her, wants to be better for her. Everybody is scared of him, except for FL who teases and pushes him. Their banter is beautiful and hilarious, they get each other by their shared experiences and trauma. But ever since she went to the palace and he took the love poisoness bug in for her, his scenes seemed to have dwindled drastically. FL clearly loved him otherwise the bug wouldnt have gone to him.

He’s the only character that is exciting to watch. Cousin became to vicious and Shiqi to soft, I just wish he would have a bit more backbone.

So far I’m just keep hoping that FL will chose Xiang Lui, but sadly I’ve already been spoiled by the comment section under viki. I think they could be great and I think XL is the only one who would fit with FL and her messed up passed.

I feel like the writers couldve written an epic love story, an enemies to lovers kind of thing. And they blew it, there were numerous moments already where FL and XL sparkled together, where they shared something special and romantic, what could’ve been them dating. So many chances yet FL never took any of them, I felt like with XL, she truly could be herself, especially after he becomes softer towards her. With the others I always feel like they want her to be a certain way.

I just don’t really know if I should even finish it.

PS: only thing I really need to know is if viewers ever get to see XL in his 9 head serpent form?
