What's the book ending??? I'm ready for the huge spoiler
Ming acts like a completely entitled asshole and forces himself on Joe throughout the second half of the book as well even though Joe rejects him over and over again. The author is horrid at writing redemption arcs, she has this problem in all of her other BLs (for e.g Beloved Enemy). She also makes one of the lead insufferably selfish and entitled and undeserving of the partner's love.
When did beating ppl & locking them up is oky & understandable?
The book for this one is Chinese and is also a bit older (by the same writer as Beloved Enemy, another BL with a super toxic lead). But I agree with you. Both Thai and Chinese BLs romanticise toxicity and abuse so hard, esp older BLs.
Oh Ming, I could throttle this piece of shit so bad. I need this show to change the book ending so bad and let Joe be free of this horrendous waste of space called Ming.
Toxic and angsty both. You'll wanna protect one of the lead with everything you have. Whereas you'll want to beat…
IDK about the show because the moment hasn't come yet. But in the book, Ming ties up Joe to prevent him from doing a movie to replace Tong and then later on r words Joe while he's tied up. Ming is beyond disgusting in the book.

Like don't get me wrong, he does grovel a lot but there's something he does to Joe before the Old Joe body dies that imo is absolutely unforgivable and that alone should be a reason that New Joe should reject Ming.
