I've been mustering the energy/MP/chi/mana to watch this show, and the comments/reviews are withering. In general,…
This is good. I recommend watching it rather than believing MDL comments. I mean you have people defending the r*pe scene in History4 Close to You on MDL. I wouldn't put any weight to anyone's words here (including mine), watch and decide for yourself.
I liked this unlike the people here. It had its flaws, but the two main leads were captivating to watch esp Force. The revelation of Enchante felt anticlimactic so maybe that's why so many people seem to dislike this, but I didn't mind it much. The other choice was to go the cliched route and I preferred the storyline they chose instead.
Was it the best BL of 2022 so far? Defo not. But it's still decent in its own right. Force as Akk was the highlight, I want him to lead another drama again soon. Fell in love with him here.
I wish they gave this interesting role to a more talented actor< Don't kill me fangirls.
Same here. He almost always gets overshadowed and carried. Can't name a single drama where he carries the show or even performs on-par with some of his castmates.
I'm excited about this. A big fan of both of them and a cheesy romcom is just what I want these days over the influx of edgy dramas these days. Hopefully tvN picks this up.
Korean industry should stop trying to be extra and use already existent terms. This is called a "Radio drama", which is more than efficient to describe this format.
As someone who speaks Korean and is fluent in it, I can say that some of these titles are really difficult to translate to English properly and keep it catchy.
Like for the drama "일단 뜨겁게 청소하라" (Clean with a Passion for Now), the "일단" is really difficult to translate because there's no word for it in English. It's an adverb that's more about the feeling/context rather than the meaning. When it's used it stresses an action that's happening before some other action happens so for this title to be properly translated it needed another clause at the beginning (i.e before 일단). So more or less it isn't a complete sentence/phrase, making it difficult to translate properly.
I'd rather they change the title for these difficult to translate dramas than directly translate it. The above drama could've had a different title like the "Passionate Cleaning Crew" or something lol
I hope they do the topic justice. Gender identity among minors is a very complex and nuanced topic. Hopefully it'll be great representation of the trans and non-binary community.
He made a personal video and someone leaked it basically committing a crime but instead of criticising that person, everyone criticised SHJ and gaslighted him into going into hiatus. SK is horrible when it comes to crimes like this, the victims almost always gets blamed :/
