4 minutes to redemption

I really enjoyed this, although I was a bit disappointed that the ending was somewhat open and didn’t feel like a proper conclusion. It honestly seemed like they either ran out of time to film or out of story to tell.

However, I thought the acting was good, and the whole concept surrounding the 4 minutes, and its significance, was executed really well. It might come off as confusing at times (I certainly felt that way), but if you trust the process and stick with it until the end, everything about what happened to Great and the people around him is clarified.

Be aware that there’s a fair amount of gore and spice/intense moments in this, so if that's not your thing, you might want to consider that before diving in.

Otherwise, I had a great time (pun fully intended, lol!)

The mellowest assassins in history

I was not prepared for this!

First with tattoos, unhinged Khao, shameless Dunk, and badass Joong. It’s overwhelming in the best way possible. On top of that, there are some really compelling story elements and amazing chemistry between characters.

Joong and Dunk stole the show with their dynamic and relationship development. The genuine emotions that Fadel and Style feel for each other are so captivating that I found myself loving their characters more than I did First and Khao's.

Kant and Bison were still interesting, though. Their instant lust transforms into love in a really wholesome way; we just have to forget how Kant gets involved with Bison after their one-night stand, which we conveniently overlook for the sake of wholesomeness!

The hitmen premise was well thought out, but I felt the plot got a bit lost in the middle. By the end, we managed to get back on track, but at that point, I was more invested in the romance than in the hitman angle.

Overall, the entire project was enjoyable, and I definitely think it's worth watching!

Sweet but stressful

Oh God, this journey was stressful from beginning to end.

Don’t get me wrong, I loved the characters! I particularly felt that Joong and Dunk had great chemistry, capturing that awkward and innocent first love connection we often expect from young lovers. I also enjoyed the interactions between the MLs and the supporting cast. Pokpong, Ne, Maithee, and Sean were always on point and so funny, I had a great time watching their shenanigans.

However, some aspects of the plot really frustrated me. There were too many misunderstandings, especially with Kluea's inability to communicate throughout the entire drama. To be completely honest, the love triangle could have been entirely avoided if Daonuea had been upfront with Typhoon from the start. And that ending... I understand it opens the way for Khuafah and Prince’s story, but before I knew that I was confused about why the show concluded in that way.

Overall, I think this drama is good, and you might find it really enjoyable. I was simply disappointed because I don’t like the miscommunication trope, and it seemed that this drama relied on it quite a bit.

Great drama with a stupid ending

This drama has a really intriguing plot – when her sister flees from her wedding to an influential heir, Hong Hui Ju, who is mute, steps in as the bride. After three years of a cold and distant marriage of convenience with her husband, Baek Sa Eon, everything changes when Hong Hui Ju is kidnapped. This incident forces them to confront their true selves: the wife reveals her strength, while the husband grapples with his own struggles, and we finally get a glimpse into their complex family dynamics.

Initially, I expected this to be a typical married-couple-falls-in-love drama, but I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of the storyline.

I found myself enjoying it quite a bit, especially in the beginning. Hong Hui Ju is a strong character; despite her muteness, she exudes personality, and her strength and perseverance are truly inspiring. I admired how she grew more assertive, stopped trying to please those who wished to harm her, and pursued her dreams despite numerous challenges.

Baek Sa Eon is also a nuanced character. The actor, Yoo Yeon Seok, brilliantly portrays him as aloof and seemingly uninterested in others' lives, maintaining an expressionless demeanour and unwavering eyes. I always found myself curious about his thoughts.

The supporting characters each play significant roles in the drama, as well. Their introductions felt purposeful, and the plot seamlessly integrates them as the story unfolds – the way that I did not see the drama involving Lee Tae Yeong and Park Do Jae!

All that said, I was slightly disappointed with the finale. I’m tired of the hurt-them-to-save-them trope. There was no reason for Baek Sa Eon to leave or for the time skip to occur. The series could have concluded once the main intrigue was resolved, without unnecessarily dragging it out for drama's sake.

Overall, while I found the ending frustrating, it didn’t overshadow the quality of the drama. I would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys romance intertwined with additional plotlines and complex characters.

A great murder-mystery drama

I have no words. This was an incredible journey – from observing the dynamics among the members of Gold Boys to exploring the differences in perception between idol-fan interactions, solving the murder mystery, and following the romance between Ra Ik and Se Na. I had such a wonderful time!

This drama is truly exceptional, and I won’t tolerate any negative remarks about it (LOL).

Honestly, the cast deserves a major shoutout. They did an amazing job. I wasn't familiar with Kim Jae Yeong before, but I'm so glad I got to see his performance. He portrayed Ra Ik's character and emotions beautifully. There were moments when I felt sorry for him, and other times when I wanted to scream at him – this made him feel very human to me.

The same can be said for Choi Soo Young, Choi Hee Jin, and Jung Jae Kwang, all of whom impressed me greatly!

Overall, I think this is a must-watch. It's fun, incorporates good suspense and mystery, features great romantic chemistry, and the story is genuinely moving once you reach the end.

Worth watching, but it’s not the masterpiece it’s made out to be

I understand why people rave about this show, but I find it slightly overrated. While it was entertaining, it wasn’t jaw-droppingly amazing.

I enjoyed the time travel plot, the romance, and the portrayal of the idol-fan parasocial relationship. The intrigue surrounding Im Sol’s accident and Ryu Seon Jae’s death, as well as the dynamics between the characters, kept me engaged. I appreciated how we received snippets of the overall plot as the story developed, which helped maintain my interest throughout, and the romance between Im Sol and Ryu Seon Jae was sweet and well-written; it felt awkward and gradual, capturing all the elements of teenage love. Even though he fell for her first, her feelings were deeper, making it even more beautiful.

Now, for what I didn’t like: the last arc. The plot was fantastic up until episode 12, but after that, it dragged unnecessarily due to Im Sol making a life-altering decision that changed everything. We fell into the familiar hurt-them-to-save-them trope. Why?! It didn’t enhance the story at all; in fact, it stretched a plotline that had already run its course, adding nothing but my frustration as we revisited the initial storyline where Im Sol loved Ryu Seon Jae from a distance, only to eventually return to him in the end. This repetitive cycle was not only annoying but also unnecessary.

As for Tae Seong, I felt his character suffered from the second male lead curse. He experienced heartbreak knowing he would never measure up to the main lead, yet he remained an essential part of the plot.

So, while I enjoyed the series, I felt underwhelmed by the overall experience. It has an impressive production value, a beautiful soundtrack and intro, good chemistry between the actors, and an interesting plot. However, it didn’t move me the way I had anticipated.

Right in middle of the enjoyment spectrum

This drama starts off on slightly the wrong shoe size (ha!) but eventually finds its footing. It grows on you over time.

I found the first part of the drama to be overly dramatic, slow-paced, and somewhat far-fetched, which is probably why I couldn't connect with it as quickly as I thought I would. There were many parts of the story that were teased but never fully explored, which became frustrating by the time I reached episodes 8 or 9 – it felt like too long of a tease.

That said, one aspect I really enjoyed was the portrayal of how terrible fans can be to their idols. Once again, we see a realistic approach to parasocial relationships between fans and idols, and I always appreciate that depiction in media!

While I had issues with the beginning, the second part of the drama makes up for it. The action really develops once cracks begin to form in the characters' carefully built facades, allowing the plot holes from earlier to unravel. The romance is also a sweet addition. Hoo Joon and Geun Young develop a charming love story while initially ‘hating’ each other, and I was entertained by every interaction between them. I did find the sudden development of his interest in her a bit off-putting, but I was too invested by that point to care. I also wished Geun Young had grown as a character a bit more – she seemed to be holding back even after everything she had been through, which was somewhat irritating.

On the other hand, the story between Oh In Hyung and JJ was not straightforward or sweet. I appreciated that they resolved their issues in the end, but we can't overlook how JJ treated her before their accident. He controlled her phone, friendships, career, and even her home. He was physically abusive as well. This is not a healthy relationship, and Oh In Hyung deserved so much better!

Overall, this drama is entertaining. It may not be the best thing you’ve ever seen, but it’s certainly not the worst either – it sits right in the middle of the enjoyment spectrum.

What revenge? The guy gave it up in 0.2 seconds!

This drama felt slightly rushed to me. The pacing was too quick for me to enjoy it fully, as it didn’t really give me the time to catch-up before we moved on to the next scene.

It’s also interesting to note that the actual revenge element is surprisingly subtle throughout the drama. While the cheater is caught, it’s all wrapped up pretty quickly, making it feel less central to the story. Then, as the narrative unfolds, you quickly realise the true focus – but the ‘revenge’ is definitely on the softer side, something that caught me off guard.

I was charmed by the sweet romance between the main leads, to be honest and despite my initial expectations. If this had been the main highlight from the start, I think I would have liked every moment of this.

The overall plot is also simple and filled with familiar tropes – from childhood friends to complicated family dynamics – but there’s a certain enjoyment to it that I could appreciate in the end.

Lastly, I liked how relationships developed throughout the series – especially the genuine communication that emerged towards the end, both within family dynamics and in the love story.

So, if you’re in the mood for something light and easy to watch, this drama could be a delightful choice!

Two obsessive people, equally obsessed with each other

Relationships exist on a spectrum that each person constructs and navigates individually. This drama effectively highlights that complexity.

You can't label Mizuki as a red flag without also considering Yoh in the same light. Both of them exhibit some of the most significant warning signs in their relationship – their behaviours are manipulative, obsessive, and impulsive, and their communication is horrendous.

While I agree that Mizuki's reasons for asking Yoh to move in with him are dubious at best and that we shouldn't romanticize this situation, it's important to remember that Yoh isn't innocent either. His obsession with Mizuki is just as intense, and his communication is equally poor. In a way, they might be well-suited for each other.

As for the drama's overarching plot, it's entertaining. With only eight episodes, it presents a slice-of-life story that focuses on the everyday experiences of Mizuki and Yoh. It's straightforward, easy-going, and relatively free of heavy drama.

Overall, I believe it's worth watching!

Miscommunication galore

I thought this would be a good second-chance romance, so I decided to give it a try despite the negative reviews. However, I have to admit I was a bit disappointed.

The main characters were incredibly frustrating. If they had just sat down and talked through their feelings years ago, this story would have turned out very differently. Instead, they made assumptions about each other, gave up on their relationship, and then, six years later, acted as if they were repressed and heartbroken – like they hadn’t caused this situation themselves.

Once they figured themselves out, the romance became somewhat cute, and I hoped I could overlook the beginning if they were heading toward a happy ending. But unfortunately, there was more drama to come, with them repeating the same mistakes all over again.

Overall, there was too much miscommunication for me to fully enjoy this series, even though it is only six episodes long and is said to be heartwarming.

Nevertheless, I encourage others to give it a try – you might see it differently than I did!

Short but sweet

Overall, this is a solid university K-BL, and I would recommend it if you're looking for a short, easy-going romance to watch.

The plot isn't very complex, but it does address some serious subjects, such as trauma responses, verbal and physical abuse, bullying, and internalized homophobia. The actors deliver an impressive performance; their interactions feel natural, and the chemistry between them is brilliant.

And, while I wasn't a fan of the open ending, it didn't detract from my overall enjoyment of the drama.

Slightly obsessed with this one

I watched this drama on a whim. I have to admit, I wasn't disappointed at all. I came across a clip of it on Instagram, which intrigued me enough to give it a try, and I’m so glad I did!

Shin Min Ah is incredible; I absolutely love her! Her acting was fantastic, and her character beautifully balanced sarcasm with seriousness, adding depth to her role. She was also genuinely funny, which made the viewing experience even better. There was so much to explore in Son Hae Yeong’s life, and I thoroughly enjoyed diving into every aspect.

I also have to be honest: I’m definitely in love with Kim Young Dae. His deadpan delivery and the way he expressed so much with just his eyes really stood out to me. There was a warm feeling every time he appeared on screen, which contributed to the romantic atmosphere of the drama. You could really feel the chemistry between the actors!

Bok Gyu Hyun and Nam Ja Yeon were such wholesome characters, too. I appreciated that they weren’t one-dimensional, even as secondary characters. And the open relationship that the sister had was a surprising twist. You don’t often see this kind of dynamic depicted in dramas, and I kind of loved it. It showcased that love can have many layers and isn’t always straightforward.

In conclusion, there’s a lot to love about this drama. It’s not perfect, and some people might have aspects they don’t enjoy, but overall, it’s definitely an enjoyable watch!

The found-family haven I desperately needed

Overall, I really enjoyed this drama. I’m a sucker for found-family tropes, and this show delivers that beautifully.

The story centres on estranged siblings-in-law Hyeon Jin and Tae Hyeong, who are brought together by tragedy to raise their nephew, Seon U Ju. It’s a lovely slice-of-life narrative where the main plot revolves around two people raising a baby that isn’t theirs, and in the process, they end up falling in love with each other.

The sweetness is overwhelming; baby Seon U Ju is adorable, and the relationship between Hyeon Jin and Tae Hyeong develops nicely. Their journey includes the expected highs and lows, which add depth to the love they share.

However, I did have one issue with the addition of Park Yun Seong. I understand the intention to create a love triangle to introduce friction between the main leads, but the execution felt excessive. At one point, Hyeon Jin seemed to have more chemistry with Yun Seong than she did with Tae Hyeong, which felt odd and frustrating as this tension persisted almost until the end. Additionally, the scene involving child services, while necessary for a show like this, felt exaggerated and out of place within the whole plot. I wished it had been modified to focus more on how much they care for the child, rather than on neglect and abuse, which wasn’t applicable in this case.

But, despite these issues, I still loved the drama. They didn’t diminish the overall happiness I felt while watching. I would definitely recommend it!

One of the best paranormal BLs I’ve ever watched!

Khemjira was executed in the best way possible.

The suspense, the gore, the paranormal elements, and the romance, along with the gradual revelation of the background plot, were all very well done. I was genuinely excited to see this drama adapted, and it did not disappoint!

While the episodes are on the longer side – some even stretching beyond 2 hours – I believe this length was a gift for the story's development. There’s such a rich tapestry of Thai lore and customs that deserved thoughtful exploration, which shorter 45-minute episodes simply couldn't provide. The story itself is substantial and never feels like filler content, and the introduction of backstory and the connections between characters were seamlessly woven together with smooth transitions.

Without a doubt, the actors shone brightly throughout the drama. Keng and Namping were absolutely adorable together, and the development of their relationship felt natural rather than forced. And I can't even express how much joy Tle and FirstOne brought to the screen; their performances always made me smile!

I also appreciated the introduction of Jin and Da, and their connection to Jet and Chan. This beautifully showcased love in all its forms – not only through BL and GL narratives but also by portraying a love that transcends societal barriers. Love simply exists, and that was wonderfully represented!

Green (Ramphueng) and Janis (Khemmika) also delivered outstanding performances. Their expressions and overall acting were truly top tier, conveying a deep, tragic, emotional connection between their characters in both past and present. Their storyline was deeply moving. Ramphueng moved me to tears at the end, and I found myself sympathizing with her, feeling gratified that she finally got her chance at revenge.

Overall, this drama left me with a whirlwind of emotions. The conclusion elevated my experience, wrapping up the story on a wonderfully happy note. After all the challenges the characters faced, it felt like the perfect reward. I absolutely loved every moment of it!

Childhood friends turned lovers

This was such a lovable and wholesome drama. The holy trinity – Choi Seung Hyo, Bae Seok Ryu, and Jung Mo Eum – were a joy to watch.

I appreciated that the story didn’t focus solely on the two main leads falling in love; it also highlighted Seok Ryu’s illness and its impact on her, as well as her relationships with her mother and friends. I enjoyed the emphasis on Seung Hyo’s job and the struggles and successes he faced. I felt that Jung Mo Eum faded a bit into the background towards the end. Still, I loved her relationship with Kang Dan Ho and his daughter; that story arc was the best!

The four mothers were also a delight to watch. I loved how the series depicted the evolution of their friendship over the years and how they have supported each other.

Overall, this is such a feel-good drama. It beautifully explores themes of family, friendship, love, and caring for those around you. The pacing is decent, the acting is solid, and the overall plot develops quite nicely. I would definitely recommend this drama!
