That Fan Yu boy was just soooooo useless & annoying & stupid that I wondered if he was actually his father's son.
The actors were all good looking, d costumes & sets were pretty, but I felt like all the nonsense with d taihou & gongju were totally unnecessary π.
I'm rewatching this, currently on ep 35, & its still so good! I just love the chemistry between Feng Suige & Fu Yixiao, they really get each other & are so in tune. Really nice. π₯°. My favourite character is Xia Jingyan, the Jinxiu emperor, he's so loony & funny πππ he told that spoilt, dumb brat "the more ungrateful u are, the more I like u"πππ. Every one of his scenes was an absolute delight to watch!π. He's also in Story of kunning palace & Threads of destiny.
Feng Xiyang is just mind-numbingly, irredeemably stupid, a total disgrace to her ancestors ππ I think Feng Chenyang was too naive & wimpy for a prince, the only good thing he did was to support ML at d end. Their father Feng Pingcheng was an idiotππ. Why did he sit on his silly a$s for 15 years letting the Zhuang family fester & rot his kingdom when he could have had his revenge & smoothed things out with his son?
I like the 2 main OSTs - Laughing along with the snow & Don't cry.
The sets were so beautiful & believable, as were the costumes. This show is really good, with high rewatch value for meπ
This series has made a name for itself in the variety the cases to be resolved, the alternate characters of the main cast, the action & visuals, and the OSTs (S1 & S2 have great rock songs). At least, those are what I always look forward to that I get from the first 2 seasons.
I gave this season a 7.5 because as good as it is, it still kinda falls short of the electric thrill I get from season 1. Sure, LJH's alternate characters were fun & entertaining as usual, & the action scenes look good.
But i did not like that cases dragged on for more than 1 episode, the OSTs left something to be desired, & the rainbow team seemed to take on a little too much risk & expense when solving cases. For example, how & why did they buy so many cars in the episode with Yoon Shi Yoon, why was Kim Do Gi careless/inattentive that Jang Na Ra's character fell from the roof, & bringing civilians to a military training grounds where live ammunitions were to be fired is totally absurd & impractical. And they killed bad guys here deliberately? π
In spite of all that, it was enjoyable, & LJH proved his acting prowess as always. Woo Sung's track is the only OST I enjoyed, though it was nice hearing Yoon Do Hoon's 'Way Home' again.
Some people complained about the new ev cars but I think its practical that the rainbow team upgraded their vehicles to evs, they certainly look sleek. So a 7.5 it is, looking forward to the next oneπ€π€π€...
Rewatching this, & still like it a lot. Yanxi is such a baby-faced terrorist ππ. We NEED to talk more about his fight scenes & style, sooo freaking cool & realistic! Still hate the annoying emperor π π€¬
I'm certainly NOT one of those diehard fans who join fan groups or whatever, but I must say this Song yi girl just does not cut it for me as an actress. To me, her acting feels forced & rather fake that I did this π so often, like how d fl was supposed to portray a 'lady' , her crying & voice were just so fake I had to skip a lot of those scenes. And why does she Always call out d ml's name after every few words? Its so annoying, like how she did with "Erlang" in Luoyang...π

I'd rate this a 7.8. Again, love BJT!

Try them out, you won't be disappointed
He's the best actor of them all! His expressions are gold, and he executes his character soo well it seems like a part of him.
Not to mention how good looking he is!ππππ. And the kiss scene in the cave....I melted twice!π€π€
That aside, it was interesting seeing Wang Xing Yue in this role, & Zhou Jun Wei is such a lovable cutie!
The story, acting, OST & all were top notch.
This is my 1st time Bai Lu drama, & I must say she's pretty,& she acted well too. I like the fake Xue Ding Fei, a quirky & funny yet scarred character.
The stupidest one was that Yu Fangyin girlππ, what the crap did she cling to Zhou Yinzhi for after he released her!? Mind-numbingly stupid!
Someone pls tell ZLH that he's got a real fan right hereππ«°ππ
There seemed to be holes in the story & the acting, though I give props to the dude who played Zhuang Shiyang, who by the way is one of the sickest, most annoying villains everππ«©.
It seemed to be winter all through the show, & Hanyan's face often failed to show the kind of emotion one would expect in certain situations.
Prince Qi was a despicable character but well played π.
They also tried to incorporate modern themes into the story, like much older woman-younger man relationship, & female emancipation. Not bad, but kinda too progressive for the Ming era.
In spite of all that, it was an enjoyable show which I'd rate no more than 7 or 7.5.
