For sure! A few of us were talking about it further down in this comment section. It took a lot of us a rewatch to catch on.

Sher isnt dating Prince. There are a couple scenes that establish that. He’s just super mushy and teasing with him which makes everyone think he is - and he doesnt care enough to clarify. And he also seems to be doing some of it to rile Gear up into action through jealousy.

Its because it’s 2 scenes being shown at the same time.

I apologize if I misunderstood you. I probably also took it a bit too personally. I relate to both of these characters in different ways, so seeing so many people hate on them for the same traits I, or the people I know, exhibit irks me.

I wouldn't say it was an over-analysis by any means. It's a valid concern. And probably a turn-off for many people with those experiences. I think the key to any analysis is, of course, being aware of where the facts and where the connotations lie in it. Blurring that line, even in a fictional context, can really shape our behaviors and assumptions moving forward. Just as I did within this very exchange with you 😅

I do not mean to delegitimize your (or your friends') experiences. Just as I would hope you would never try to do with mine. Let's see where this story goes (or not, should you decide to drop it after not enjoying/connecting with it). And besides, calling out problematic behaviors can be really important with media - especially in media that paints the behaviors in a particularly romanticized or fluffy manner. It's rather fascinating how much the media we consume shapes our perceptions in real life.

By that same logic of not taking non-explicit things into consideration - you shouldn't take bi-curious crush gone too far into consideration either.

At pure face value, we have an immature sophomore with no relationship experience, barely any social prowess, a ditzy personality, and an only tentative grasp of his emotions and what is causing them that is scared of intimacy. He hasn't had any serious crushes before (as evidenced by his conversation with his friend about the dream). And has had at least some level of interest (whether that be curiosity, admiration, or attraction) for Takara for a while. This is evidenced by many flashbacks across the episodes. This interest and attention apparently manifested into an actual crush without him realizing it until Takara complimented and smiled at him. But he doesn't seem to grasp the larger details of what this means. He's just enjoying Takara's company and attention.

That's it. That's all we know at face value.

But that's the thing, right? Personal experiences shape how we interpret and relate to those face-value facts. I was just pointing out that there are plenty of other explanations for his behavior. We shouldn't be so quick to paint him in a bad light without all the facts, just because personal experience has painted his behaviors in a bad light. And jumping to those conclusions is incredibly harmful to the people who exhibit similar behaviors for totally different reasons. All of those communities I listed in my previous response get a LOT of hate for these behaviors, because of the same connotations that you have from experiencing them. Just because the behaviors are the same, doesn't mean the causes are.

I mean, disclaimer, I am on the asexual spectrum so I might not be the best person to speak on this.

But I remember being very uncomfortable with the mere prospect of intimacy - especially at that age (theyre like HS sophomores here arent they?) and in a first relationship. And my first kiss probably elicited a very similar facial expression.

He does act a bit immature for a sophomore, but I attribute that more as a staple of these BL manga to live-action adaptations. MANY are like this. Even ones taking place in the workforce.

I also think that it's a bit of a damaging perception to think that just because he's uncomfortable and scared of intimacy that he's just experimenting. Between asexuality being a thing and numerous neurodivergencies that can have similar experiences - that take rather aggravates me. Especially considering we don't know what problem he has with his mom that creates such a change in personality. There might even be trauma there.

Yes, experimenting is a pretty (and often quite unfortunately) common thing. But I think it's quite clear that he is very romantically interested in Takara. And on some level, also physically attracted.

sorry if this will probably be a weird question but why do people in thai bls (kdramas too) always park in reverse?!?…
I mean, it's easier to pull out that way - especially when you're anticipating alot of traffic (like say, when all the students are getting out of class). It's easier to see the cars and people coming and going. It can be quicker too, especially if the parking lanes are kind of narrow.

But just fyi, the intimate scene in the beginning is actually 2 scenes. Fah and Sher on their respective one night stands. They havent been in the bedroom together to determine any sort of dynamics yet.

(Trust me, i was confused too, i only realized when i rewinded to get a better grasp of character identities. I was actually laughing at first about the “continuity error” with the pants.)

I didnt interpret the crowd as homophobes. That felt very clearly like some idolization nonsense.

But yea, theres always the chance that the translation was off and he’s just an infuriatingly overdramatic jealous boy - as opposed to a homophobe. I guess we’ll see.

Yea, i was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt because he is frustrated with the Pink situation.

But theres just too much happening:
- his reaction when the gossipers were talking about the kiss at the beginning of the episode
- him conflating bi and gay in the same sentence
- making it sound like it’s a bad thing
- despite being in some sort of position of authority, having no reaction at all to the misgendering of Anna at the script meeting
- And then theres his reaction in the preview for next episode.

not a great start... seems a bit old fashioned to me and what was the point of the scene where the dude insulted…
I think it’s to show Tar’s character (since he didnt do anything at all about the situation even though he’s supposed to be partially in charge i think?). Because we also see that he’s at least a bit homophobic. Between him conflating bi and gay in the same sentence, making it sound like a bad thing that doesnt deserve Pink’s crush, and then almost puking at the bathroom scene in the preview.

Its probably gonna be one of the sources of tension with that ship. Or he’s gonna be some sort of villain character fueled by his homophobia and desire to get Pink to stop paying attention to Fah. Or it’s gonna be some social commentary.

Also, transphobia is quite rampant in Thailand and the BL industry. So it might be trying to saying something about that later on. Just because it’s present doesnt mean that the writers are supporting it.

Had to rewatch the first 10 minutes to unravel all the characters in my head. They might as well have introduced them all at once in a line up. In fact, that mightve been better at linking faces to names, honestly.

Fah is annoying. Sher is intriguing. The second couple (Prince and Gear) looks like it’ll be cute. Trying my best to withhold judgement on the third couple (Ping and Tap). The fourth couple/duo need to go off somewhere. What purpose do they serve? Restrained fujioshi meets homophobe? Unless they turn into some subtle social commentary, Im not really interested. And do i spot a 5th with Tle and Non?

I love how supportive Amagi's friend is. He watched them flirting so fondly.
He’s trying to steal the show from the background, i swear. I love watching his reactions. 😂😂
