Intersex is an umbrella term covering a wide range of conditions that complicate the biological sex binary by either presenting characteristics of both sexes or underdeveloped characteristics from one. Here are some basic references if yall would like to learn more
lol! That is awesome. I'll have to look for it on rewatch! I bet, if so, that it is an easter egg or a "shout…
I love that you are still sticking around the comment section đ„° Honestly, sitting down and just having a Taiwanese BL close watch binge for easter eggs and cameos would be so fun.
Do you have Viki? We could totally have a watch party. A giant portion of Taiwanese BLs are on there (including this one now).
I'm not going to say that I understand the "science" behind this story, but I was able to forgive that, and enjoyed…
The above mentioned condition is one of many different conditions under the intersex umbrella. Here's a helpful and simple start if you still wanted to learn more. We don't really get told which condition he has (a choice that was probably made to avoid inaccuracies and errors).
Yeah , up until the reveal in ep 9, I was totally thinking trans male representation! The only thing that didn't…
I think the general consensus a lot of us had in our many many discussions (both in comments and in dms) is that while they wanted to shine a light on being intersex and other gender-diverse related concepts and fears, they wanted to focus on Amber as a person, rather than his condition or his journey to his current identity. There were definitely some flaws to this, but I think it was a noble effort. Like any new types of stories, there are going to be fumbles. I look forward to what this drama will inspire in future stories.
Is this series somehow related to HIStory4: Close to You? In DNA Says Love You in Li Ching Lung and Guan Yu Chenâs…
Taiwanese BL dramas love to reference each other. I have yet to see any that don't. It's either through easter eggs like this or through cameos. I like to think of it as a nod to the dramas that came before. Kind of a respect thing. Plus fans love easter eggs and cameos. It keeps reminding people of past dramas, makes them go back, and keeps word circulating about them. It's quite clever really.
*Edit: I cant remember which dramas, but it's also common in BLs to see posters for groundbreaking gay films like Brokeback Mountain and Call Me By Your Name. That's why I lean more towards saying its a nod to past works.
I saw those looks between Soo Cheol and Hye Joon this episode. I ship it. But I think it might be passed off as an unrequited thing. Soo Cheol seems to see her like a sister.
If the comedy in the first few episodes isn't your schtick, stick around till episode 7. The type of comedy shifts and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I've been doing far less skipping from cringe and secondhand embarrassment.
I just realized this is 18 episodes! Why??? They really could wrap this up in 10. I don't know if I'm going to…
Honestly, yea. This could have been a shorter series because of how simple it is. But the pacing and style is quite similar to Vicenzo is several ways - so I wonder if they went with a longer series to kind of match Vicenzo's success.
I actually loved this episode. It was so funny. I think my favorite was when the youngest of the cafe gang passed off his presence as a shoe insert- seller. Their faces were GOLD. And he didn't look at all tempted. He's living his best life right now. XD How many people can say they turned down THAT offer?! And the FL appears to have learned some from her mistakes, so she was less annoying and more fun to watch.
And I loved that some of my suspicions proved true. 1.) Obvious suspect isnt the suspect they were looking for, but is sus. 2.) We were revealed to the bad guy prior to the main characters. Very Vicenzo-like if I do say so myself.
Also, this episode proved gopuri isn't the prosecutor...?
In the episode 6 epilogue scene. It's a flashback. From 3 years ago. ML is talking to the prosecutor and telling him about the burn mark for the first time. Across the street, a guy is in his car with his arm out the window watching them, featuring *dun dun* a burn scar.
I don't think the prosecutor is innocent. But he isn't Gopuri.
The story is still interesting at this moment but I can't help but to wonder how they are going to fill up 18…
I mean, the same could have been said for Vicenzo, but I don't really hear anyone complaining there. There's ways to keep an audience engaged even when we know more than the characters.
Besides, we still have to: - Find and identify who gopuri is - Determine who all his accomplices (and potentially bosses) are - Take down Gopuri and his accomplices/bosses - They'll probably be a few more cases, both directly and nondirectly linked to Gopuri - Get rid of the corrupt cops - Prove ML's innocence - Clear ML and his friend's names legally - Determine what the cafe gang is going to do next - ML and FL's apparent romance.
Some people have seemed to miss everything that says that the prosecutor isn't Gopuri. One, the cops were there…
Same. The first 2 episodes, I was like "he's too squeaky clean and suspiciously good." But then it became too obvious. And they still wouldn't show his face. Like if it's going to be that obvious, go all the way. Fully make it one of those things that the audience knows but the character's don't. Like they did in vicenzo. The more people kept guessing him, and the more the show wouldn't explicitly show us, the more I was like. Nope. Not him. He's still sus though. I still stand by that judgement.

Yea. I kept seeing everyone saying "I thought I was the only one..." or "I'm glad I'm not the only one..." or "anyone else thinking..." I'm like, "this entire comment section. wdym?" đ

I'm just glad it's not the prosecutor. It would have been annoyingly obvious, especially while they weren't revealing his face. I would've felt like I was being played as a fool.
