I'd be curious to see a popularity ranking among Thai viewers as well. But I would say this list is probably accurate for MDL stats. There's a lot of avid BL fans on here. It's also harder to find non-BL Thai series with international subs (i've tried), so it's probably skewed internationally off of MDL as well.

As for my favorite female leads, it’s definitely ones with awareness of herself and the situations she finds herself in. She stands by her values and goals even in the face of opposition, but knows when to back down or adjust if she causes harm to others in the process. She’s honest, hard working, and caring. 🫶
There were so many good and informative points in here. And i loved how they were punched with some summarized sentiments. I especially took pause at these 3: -American society links women's youth with sexiness, Japanese culture associates it with innocence. -Every criminal, every less-than-perfect person is not insulted as much as their mothers are. -I mean, if someone were to choose between doing something that's encouraged by everyone and portrayed as an ideal way to live VS something that they'll face obstacles and discrimination for — they're obviously not going to pick the latter.
“When it comes to the *over the top* Japanese style dramas, they are mostly if not always manga adaptations.” That’s definitely what ive been noticing in my jdrama journey as well.
I loved the analysis of characters as they fit (or dont) into the topic/characterizations at hand. Thank you so much for linking them. Ive added several to check out. Including my zodiac card one 😉
More leads need to stand up to overbearing family members/in-laws like that! That was great!
The safe driving disclaimer was fantastic! 😂
This episode was a bundle of fluff. BUT with a note of tension coming on. Their honeymoon phase is gonna be quite short-lived. Xun’an is used to sacrificing his interests and stances for the ones he cares about. But eventually that dissatisfaction will have built up too much to stay quiet. Bai Lang is so forceful and loud, that even with the best intentions (which he doesnt always have), he often steps on Xun’an’s toes - so to speak. 😬
And YAY! The end credit scene was from Alex’s perspective this time! And i KNEW he was awake during that scene! But hearing his internal thoughts about it was interesting. 🧐
I dont really care about the third couple. And it doesn’t help that they feel like school children. They could fit RIGHT into any HS/College BL perfectly.
Yes. A few days ago, Sprite had left the production. According to another commenter, words were said that insulted Sprite and her qualifications. As of Dec. 8th, they have formally apologized to her in person and on socials. They also released a statement saying that they will continue forward with the project.
The latest news is still really new so I'm waiting for better translations to start circulating, but after a lot of discussion, they may have decided to air the footage she has already filmed, or she has returned to the production? I'll keep an eye out and update in this thread.
Those scenes with Milk made me cry. And it didnt help that i kept replaying them because of how gorgeous they are.
The golden color surrounding such a bittersweet farewell of first love. In the very place that the 4 of them had come to know so much happiness. With Milk finally embracing the very emotions (and their meaning) that he so adamantly opposed before. And that kiss was gorgeous. It really convinced me of their chemistry in that moment right before, during, and after.
And then the monotonous gray of the subway, where Milk walks alone, unsure if Jungwoo will succeed in convincing Choco to join him. If he’d ever see him again. Or if Choco’s soul will cease to exist. But smiling anyway for the time he got to spend with everybody and seeing more of the world than he had as a cat. Showing that despite the sadness, he wouldn’t change a thing.

Looks like we might be getting a different type of character from First. I'm excited!

But I wonder if itll be a next life sort of thing. Since the end credit clip of 10 talked about what they would want to return as.
