I can understand your frustration with the characters, but I found the comment about “How can 2 ADULTS have miscommunication as a problem?” interesting.
Miscommunication is actually one of the most common challenges in adult relationships. Being an adult doesn't mean we automatically know how to communicate, understand each other, or express what we really feel.
Perhaps the strong reaction to the story also comes from how personally we relate to what we see on screen. We all bring our own experiences into the way we judge relationships.
