The 'found family' aspect in her 2nd life with the 2nd He family was such an interesting bit of He Yan's character though. ughh... we can only lament and blame the censorship lmao

Saw only the spear guy featured in the trailer. The rest, like you mentioned, is only briefly shown in the background. Hope those are our og flag squad. Who's gonna help He Yan for the Rundu arc without them...

Same sentiment for the cut of Lin Shuanghe. He was my favorite character aside from the leads in the novel as well.

About the 2nd He family, they are most likely doing The Double style. Entirely rid off the rebirth bits, so there's no longer the need for the 2nd He family anymore. Instead, He Yan might somehow survive the murder, just like in The Double.

For the rest of the missing characters... I just hope it's the case of incomplete cast list on wiki. All of them are such memorable characters. Really would have like to see them on screen.

Ep10 - I'm having serious trust issues with every character in this drama. You pick your home team, and doubt everyone else is the way to go...

SYS in deep shit. I would also be in deep shit with how cute Ran Ran is. I would have to meditate way more often than SYS tbh. That ice cave gonna be my permanent residence.

Aside from the amazing performance of the leads, the pacing is what really got me here. All the flashbacks properly done, relationships properly set up and get us invested, while there's literally no draggy parts so far... in what like 1/4th of the length of the drama, and a romance with high stakes upcoming. This is as good as it can get for a xianxia really.

Fingers crossed it stays the same and we are getting a potential xianxia classic.

After following the reuters since the start of shooting, I'm now seeing TXW in a new light. We knew she plays feminine characters very well. But, she looks sooo fine in her fierce look as well in her armor. Can't wait to watch it on screen!

There are a couple villainous figures actually, each with their own motives.

If I recall correctly, biggest ones are Qi Min (son of the late crown prince) and Wei Yan (the big guy in the imperial court). There are a couple other figures as well who work against our main leads.

I'm enlightened now as well lol. Gonna check out previous works of both leads.

For Deng Wei, may be I'll start with Lost You Forever as I've been meaning to start it.

For Julia, may be Ripe Town as I watch costume drama mostly and that's her only costume drama in recent years.

Yo.... this show came out of left field for me. Great writing, pacing, leads, action scenes and effects.

I've only seen ML in TTEOTM... and that's it. FL is totally new to me, and I'm really loving her Mu Qing Ge here. Looking forward to how the story will pan out, I'm already quite invested in it.

The struggle is real with new faces introduced almost every episodes 🤣

Finished episode 8, and I'm now sure I'll be staying till the end. Everyone playing 5D chess for their own agenda, and I'm loving it!

And also, whoever YPA ends up with, ML or her bestie, I ship both ships! LSS chemistry works for both. 😂

Ningning scenes were one of my favorite parts in the novel, she's just so adorable.

They are a power couple, and happily married with a daughter.

I read on mydramanovel as well, and I'm on the same boat as you for those 2 chapters...

For Legend of Female General, romance is slow burn and it takes a while. But it's so satisfying when they finally get together, and the events leading up to it are also swoon worthy. It's not that heavy on political plots. It's more focused on He Yan's journey of rise to power and revenge. Just imagine a mix of Mulan and The Double.

ikr... when I read those parts, I was like "Damn Xie Zheng doesn't joke around". And I couldn't help but laugh out loud whenever both of them refresh their bite marks to each other lmao

And also the kidssss. They are so adorable 😍 I really wish the author do some more extra chapters for the kids after they come of age. Although it was implied heavily throughout the story about their future, I still wish to see the actual events taking place.

Legend of Female General novel is very good as well. Author's writing improved a lot in this novel. I legit got goosebumps when things are going down, and also got so emotional at certain parts. Keep going, it's well worth the read.

For Fan Changyu, I imagined TXW from New Life Begins with her candid, pure and earnest characteristics. For Xie Zheng, I imagined ZLH from Story of Kunning Palace with his aloof demeanor. And it worked perfectly lol

Just finished the novel. I can't help but agree with other comments stating the casting for the leads feels spot on.

Also, I really loved the overall story. It got everything - swoonworthy romance, lots of battle scenes, and actually interesting palace intrigues. I just hope the army clashes and fighting scenes turns out well in the drama coz damn I wanna see our butcher girl kicking ass.
