From what I read. Jimmy lin version is better in balancing the romance for both leads....for one...she doesn't…
I heard that this was cut from 50 episodes down to 44. If it's true, I'm wondering if Su Ying appeared more in those episodes that got cut...I never read through the whole novel, but know that if they adapted it exactly like how the novel is then it might not be as enjoyable to watch as a series. But glad they keep the happy ending.
I quite like both leads. I would observe that while Chen Zhe Yuan is doing a good job, sometimes he is so high…
I agree that Chen Zhe Yuan has room for improvement and that he might have not found his personal style yet. But he is still young and with more experience acting I can see the potential that he will become better with each role. I first saw him in The Legends of Zu 2 in which I think he did a great job. From seeing him portray his character in that series and then in Hello My Ancestor, I feel he has the ability to have a range. Watching some of the behind the scenes for Handsome Siblings, his personality seems to be a playful one. Therefore, making him very suited for the role of Xiao Yu. I can see what you mean about the high energy/overacting in the beginning of the series from him. But as the series has moved along, I think he became more and more comfortable in the role. Overall, I'm very much enjoying this series compared to some of the bad remakes I've seen.
I have to say, this is my favorite remake version so far. My all time favorite was the Tony Leung version, however I think I like this version even more for how much more of the story is in the series. HWQ is doing alright, but Chen Zhe Yuan portrayal of Xiao Yu is on point. He keeps the series alive. I think Zhe Yuan is the perfect Xiao Yu. Looking forward to when Liang Jie/Su Ying comes into the series.
In the 2005 version that I saw, the two brothers had different girls that they fell in love with. But there were…
I believe the 2005 version did not follow the novel. A lot of things were changed and made different than the story should have been regarding the love story/romance between the leads. I didn’t like the adaptation of this version at all. So far this new version seem to follow the novel more closely.
I keep hoping they'll surprise us and use his voice to dub over the screechiness of Dylan Wang. A girl can dream,…
Well, I think they dubbed his voice, but the voiceover doesn’t match him or the character. It feels off. I don't have anything against Dylan Wang, but even if they replace Arthur Chen, they should have chosen someone more suitable for the role. I think Dylan Wang was good for Meteor Garden, but not as Ning Que. I feel Liu Hao Ran would have been a much better choice, since his acting is more on the same level as Arthur Chen. I will still continue to watch though. saw some behind the scenes footage and it looks like a lot of hard work from the other cast members and crew went into this. I still like the side characters such as Chen PiPi, eldest brother, etc.
Can anyone who has read the novel tell me if this is a happy ending or sad ending? Also does Xu Bo Yi get retribution in the end for all his bad deeds. I hope he doesn’t end up having a lot of power.

I was a fan of Chen Feiyu being Ning Que, and a bit disappointed he isn't in season 2, but this trailer looks pretty good!
