The acting here is generally better than many starter BL series and I felt so moved by the performance of the two leads. I hope they get more projects too! Solid 9/10 for me because I want more episodes!
Each episode just tugs the heartstrings so tight that you just want to break the string or just let it destroy you. The music is like another character and it makes you question the intentions of each character. Tanya Chua's songs and score are hauntingly arresting yet emotionally present and really brought so much agency, voice and direction to this series.
A realistic and modern take on love which have never been so honestly brought on screen. This is like an Art film that we are so lucky to have so many episodes to indulge in. At times I really felt like peeking into someone's consciousness via some AI machine or what. It makes me reflect that if you learn to love yourself, you might hurt others.
And sometimes you have to accept and respect the outcomes of your actions.
Thought Provoking and Hauntingly Realistic. Love everything except for the end!!!
I hate you JQF! Such an annoying jealous POS character that keeps inserting herself and disturbing the happiness of others. Initially she wanted to do everything she can to please HRZ's mom, taking care of her when she was injured earlier and moving in to take care of her. Then after HRZ finally proposed, years later she resents taking care of his mom and scolding her while helping to bathe her in the showers, as her son was crying outside pleading her not to take it out on his grandma. Such a terrible hypocritical woman! And blaming everything on her 'enemy' Rebecca after all these years? Weirdo. It's like she's trying to be Rebecca after all these years, to be a 'successful' working woman and always trying to compare herself to Rebecca. It's like she's fighting her own one-sided war.
Justice for Rebecca!!! She really didn't deserve this!
it's not Ben's fault that Pat character he's playing is annoying at times and made some stupid decisions that…
Exactly! Ben's basically doing his job by portraying the same exact character as Pat's character was annoying as well in the novel! He's always crying and have to be babied by Jeng.
What are you other top 2? Now that we need to fill the unknown void, does anyone have recommendations for any…
Currently my top 3 for 2024 : 1.Last Twilight, 2. The Sign , 3.Unknown. I rank these on my personal taste, sorely based on acting, script and character development and my own point of view as a Queer guy. They may change as we get more new BLs this year. You may check the rest of my list here on my profile page or here: https://mydramalist.com/list/3bgd5gv4
As I'm very busy at work in the film industry, there's a lot of new BL shows I have yet to catch up or have drop (maybe I should do a list for dropped BLs series too).
One of the best BLs of 2024! Top 3 on my list this year! I never thought the emotional healing this series will do to me but this will grab your heartstrings and make you believe in love. I would love a second season for this! Even the annoying sister came around for me. Sincere and no wasted moments. Can we have more? 10/10
I don’t speak Korean nor Thai so the mix of these two languages doesn’t bother me as I will be reading the subtitles anyway. This seems like a basic BL story but it’s not too dramatic and I like dogs so it’s a stress free and chill BL series for me to reset my BL and Kdrama viewing palette. This would work better as a film later if they stitched all the 15 mins eps together. They did that for the other Korean BL series too so I’m not surprised if they eventually do that to this.
This is messy and chaotic I LOVE it! I love Dogs so whenever Ms Puppy is on missions, I'm laughing at all the funny scenes. Just a nice palate cleanser in between sloppy BL dramas and overly dramatic Kdramas.
I am enjoying this messy drama it's such a fresh breath of air! So much fun! SO many Twists and Turns I laughed until I got neck pain!!! All my stresses gone!
Having watched the Japanese versions (TV and Movie) including the recent anime series airing on Gaga, I would say THIS is my favourite adaptation! This is also one of the best BL of the year! I love every Thai element in this adaptation! There is such a sincere and heartfelt vibe here! So romantic and heartwarming!
And I trust that being a GMMTV series, we will get proper kissing scenes because their actors really gave their all to portray these characters! This is what I call True Acting! No forced weird kissing scenes. In this Thai version, there are real emotions and queer authenticity in which I only see Achi and Karan here. I cried and shared their desire for marriage equality, which I know will come soon in Thailand! I have Thai gays friends who have their own marriage ceremonies and even have kids now, so this touched me personally! In fact having this portrayed on their domestic media channels is already very encouraging sign for them! 🍒
Let’s hope that GMMTV will cast them in another series because this cast is just so perfect! They don’t even need to adapt any Japanese IP because their Thai stories are Kenough! At this stage of the BL history, I think GMMTV can stand proudly in their own for they have the ability to create their own IP stories and doesn’t really need any foreign adaptations to prove anything!
What happened during the broadcast of this series from the Japanese IP owners just gave me a very negative impression of them! It's despicable and untrustworthy! I just hope they will never go into the Thai BL space again! I feel so sad reading some of the comments from the GMMTV actors and I know they deserved better treatment than this! I hope to see them together in another project because they truly deserved to be exposed to a more international audience via their usual YouTube broadcasts!
I was kinda missing some Engineer BL vibes and hoped this series will give me some but seriously, this series is like Kimmon vs the rest of the Casts because the acting here are inconsistent af and super flat. I do appreciate Kimmon acting the hell out of his character and maybe the actress playing as the sick mother. The rest of the boys and girls needs to be sent to some acting school instead! It's like a student video project and I can see the smirks here and there from EVERYONE except Kimmon. The story is all over the place and they haven't even establish the characters properly. I'm gonna give this series another watch next week on account of Kimmon. Ep 1 rating: 3/10
I wish not to see any family drama and fighting with parents in bl series. To me that belongs to LGBTIQA+ movies…
I think the line between BL and LGBTQ+ productions are very blurred these days. As a gay viewer, I appreciate them having these themes here. Because it really does matters to us to have them included. It validates our struggles and and I believe a lot of gay guys are also watching BL series now. There's no need to exclude these themes especially in a Boy Love series. It's our stories being told so I applaud the production for this.
But of course you can skip these scenes if you don't like them. :)
I agree, these days too many BLs ignore the hardships gay people experience irl. I'm glad that was a focus in…
Yes as a gay guy myself, I love having these themes explored here as it makes the characters more real and relevant. I believe many gay guys are watching these BL series so it's very much appreciated! :)
This series sparks so much JOY every week it's a nice reset for me to face a new week. I don't mind the Dad drama because it's a relevant issue for gays to face especially if one party comes from a conservative family. I love them showing them fighting for their love despite the difficulties. I wished more BL series shows us the struggles of gay couples, besides the skinship of it all. It's nice to see gay couples fighting for love too. Hope it gives some hope to other gay couples facing similar situations! I appreciate all the fluffy loveliness and this series is not shy to show that. You gotta embrace all the cuteness of these characters I'm gonna miss them so much!
This was quite a easy relaxing series to watch and unwind as I don't really need any heavy themes BL right now in my life, so I'm happy so far with this light hearted series. Acting is acceptable and way more better than some GMMTV BL actors who had multiple series and still can't act.
So far so good these two EPS! No draggy plotlines! Acting is so smooth and natural! I am SO invested in their love story, so sweet and heartfelt! Potential to be one of my fav this year! Also like the OST in this series as I was worried it's gonna be one of those typical cutesy love theme song sung by a whiny female but lucky this was sung by a guy and fits the characters perfectly!! I wish I can binge this instead of waiting for another EP!
I feel sad for the Cast and Crew. Everyone's hard work and effort gone to waste. This show seemed to have a big budget and high production value too judging from the clips from YT and to risk it all for their authorities to cancel it like that? Such a pity! Production is not cheap and not to have their work shown is such a pity even if they were already paid. This series is kinda like Jumanji meets Sadako. I really like what I'm seeing! I wished this was distributed in Taiwan at least they have the freedom to do what they want. Can someone DM GagaOOLala to pick this up? GagaOOLala are you listening?!! Pick this up!!! Also start approaching all the other Mainland China BL productions too! I'm sure they will do well on your platform too!
Another stunning episode! If you haven't watch this, what are you waiting for? This is really like a Netflix or HBO level type of series! International Emmys nominations please? The acting here from ALL the cast is just emotionally rich and touching! I really see each of them as their characters! The acting from Veteran actors like the Grandmas just elevate this further. I want season 2!!!!!! WE NEED SEASON 2!
