I finished this gem yesterday and I have to say I loved it so much except for the ending seemed rushed ,,OK I…
Agreed, it seems GT just disappeared off the face of the earth after ep34 .. I was so sad seeing him go like that, and gosh I actually cried during that episode. I love his character a lot, and I had hoped to see a bit more of him afterwards. I guess there are limited episodes, and the director wanted to use the time to catch the big boss instead ..

Randomly picked this up and glad I did. It's one of the better crime dramas out there with well-rounded characters,…
Their relationship was like that of the closest brothers, they were really willing to die for each other (can't say if FM would actually have if not for his mission tho haha). In spite of anything, Gu Tao truly was a unique individual, he's a drug dealer, but also has a very strong moral compass for those he cares about. He's willing to do anything for his brothers, and values loyalty a lot, honestly I feel bad for him literally being surrounded by cops but trusting every one of them whole-heartedly .. He would've been an amazing boss if he was given the choice as a kid to not deal with drugs, never mistreat his brothers and underlings, has a superb business mind, and never plays dirty tricks unless someone does it first
GT may be a dirty drug dealer / supplier / boss figure, but in the series, he is in comparison the most principled one out of all the even more despicable drug lords ..
Started this one yesterday ,, it's really good ,, loving the story and the actors But not feeling the bromance…
So true, GT definitely trusts MC with his life, but MC remains loyal only to his goal. I would've liked to see some inner turmoil and how he might struggle after seeing GT's absolute loyalty towards his brothers, but I also admire this side of MC who never hesitates for his goal
Let's start with the important part of my review which is, the actor that plays Gu tao is gorgeous. One of the…
Yeahhh I agree completely, I've just gotten to ep 21 and damn when GT took those hits for FM even I felt shaken, I do admire GT's loyalty to his brothers. But I guess FM's loyalty to his police duties triumphs everything, and I love that about him, staying true to his goal and never side tracked
MC is seriously smart, and has such high awareness of things, it's no wonder Gu Tao has complete trust in him. Now I'm just wondering how it'll play out when GT realises MC is a spy
So i've watched Legend of Condor Heroes, Heavenly Sword and Dragon Saber, and the Return of the Condor Heroes. So is this a combination of all 3? Or an adaptation of one of them?
It’s been a while since I watched, what was the cliff hanger again?
I think some dude in black came into ShenYi's house, stabbed one of his portraits which revealed another painting underneath, it was just quite ominous
Censorship did a number on this drama. You're telling me that while Fengtai was running in that cave and in a…
I feel like Cheng was gonna confess on then phone call to Shang after he recovered, and yes I think Chacha is a total brat too. I think GuiXiu and the Colonal shouldn't die honestly, they were both loyal soldiers to their country, but GX did deliberately throw Cheng under the bus to defeat the Japanese..
I don't like open-endings, but i've accepted that it's gonna be an open ending for any bromance series. In this case, it might be a more positive ending than many in my opinion, SXR may be in danger since he stayed in BeiPing, but it seems the war was settled not too long after Cheng left. I'd like to think SXR would go visit everyone occasionally, but he wouldn't have caught the train with Cheng, cuz he values opera over his life. But they would definitely all be safe and happy and successful. And Xiao ZhouZi can take over ShuiYunLou in Shang's place in BeiPing
About the newspaper dude, yeah she was definitely 'setting him up' in some sense, I think she's a 'spy' of some sort planted by him, cuz he's a pretty influential person. Probably married her for political reasons, under duress by the japanese likely, so he has to make sure she's not bullied by his other wife. She knows that he can't let her suffer or he might incur the japanese's wrath, so she smiled when he stood up for her against his other wives/concubines wtv they are.
For XiRui's brother, i think he wanted the money to buy the bombs / airplanes stuff, which Shang later voluntarily gave them, cuz he's just such a gem and the world did not deserve him
I may not be a fan of opera, but this series really is a masterpiece. It's not like a story, more like we're seeing their actual lives being played out. It's so real, the emotions so raw, and the complex relationships and stories just make me cry sometimes
Mind sharing which other series he played in?
