Trauma Bonding At The Breakfast Table
This was an incredibly complex and emotional story. One man has absolutely no emotional regulation while the other is too empathetic for his own good. Together, they form a toxic trauma bond. CEO uses Driver as a proxy for the wife who betrayed him, as well as a weapon for self-harm. Driver eats up the crumbs of CEO's affection to ease his own loneliness and discontent.
If they were to exit the car and never see each other again, perhaps they both would survive this brief and harrowing encounter. If they continue to see each other...well, i guess we'll never really know. Either way, there is no happy ending to this story.
