Cute Soul Swap drama with really good acting

(This review doesn't contain specific spoilers on this drama, rather from chinese dramas in general)

Two things to be aware before watching this:
1. This is mainly focused on high school, so don't expect a lot of romance or kissing scenes (China doesn't allow pre-college dating).
2. Time traveling and body exchange also aren't "allowed" so they always do it in a way so it didn't REALLY happened, sometimes being it a dream or s fiction.

If you're looking for a nice and cute high school drama, then I really recommend this. The acting is on point, the best one I've seen from any gender-bender drama. The ML acts like an actual shy girl, not just a "guy acting like a girl", and the FL is very charismatic as a boy - nothing is over the top. More importantly, they actually act like each other, it's very satisfying. Congrats to all the actors!

Watch this for a satisfying romcom with a lot of good kissing!

I know many people were disappointed cause they had high expectations, but I did enjoy this a lot. Just don't expect an INCREDIBLE and innovative story, it's just a light and enjoyable romance. Which is great for those of us who like that.

I will be completely honest and tell you that what REALLY made this drama good for me was Lin Yi. He's so beautiful here I was bewitched most of the time. He's charismatic and the acting is on point. He acts so in love you really believe it (and the kissing scenes.. omg).
The female lead is good as well, just not as believable. in my opinion.

The biggest flaw is the plain story and the side characters plot, which I felt was boring.
And I did skip some game scenes when I wasn't in the mood, but they weren't as lame as in other dramas.

Overall, really good romantic comedy with a lot of relationship development!

Don't get your hopes up and you'll be fine

You know that thing you can't say it's bad but you can't say it's good either? That's exactly what this is.

The problem is mainly the plot. It tries to get sci-fi but if you came for the sci-fi stuff, you'll be disappointed. It's very shallow, as the whole story honestly, cause they tried to squeeze too much in little time. The acting wasn't the best either - the villain was cringey and Yamazaki Kento was a little off.. and that comes from the person who watches ANYTHING because of him (like this exact movie).

Overall, I wouldn't recommend this movie, but if you're a Yamakento (or other cast) fan then it's an ok watch.

Entertaining

It's a well rounded story about parallel universes, and if you like these light sci-fi kind of drama (like Someday or One Day and First Love Again) you might like this one as well. The problem here is that the characters lacked emotion. The best one is the female lead's father, but the rest didn't get me attached to them. When the actors changed from child to adults I couldn't feel the connection between them either.

So, if you're looking for a romance to get emotional and root for the leads, I don't think you'll find it here. And I don't believe it's just the actors fault, the script didn't make them close either.. it felt like they didn't really care about each other. At the same time, it's nice to have a romance without it being over the top, I guess you need some balance and for me this wasn't enough.

Despite everything, it's the kind of drama that makes you want to talk about it (hence this review) cause it leaves you thinking and it's pretty interesting.

Good character doing stupid shit.

You can't help but like and understand the female lead, but at the same time it's extremely frustrating, specially when she's a grown ass adult. (sorry for the word choice, but I just finished this so I'm in the heat of the moment right now)

I personally love Kang Minhyuk (CNBlue fan right here), so I was completely biased and rooting for him.. til there was NO EXCUSES LEFT. I actually liked the plot about him cheating on the girlfriend. It wasn't something you see often in asian dramas, but it DOES happen in real life. People are human, we all make mistakes and hurt other people. I didn't hate him for that. I hated for how he dealt with it afterwards.

Overall, I enjoyed the first half of the drama very much, and it felt new to see the ML screw up and not being a misunderstanding as it would be on other dramas. So, despite the cheating, I would have preferred to see them deal with the situation, but he didn't do ONE THING right to support her. Instead they all patronized the ex girlfriend after she stalked, threatened and exposed the female lead, letting her do everything she wanted. Like, REALLY? And anyways, she should be going after the ML, Korea need to learn about sorority.

In the end, it gets kind of cliché, the FL ending up with the "perfect guy who did nothing wrong ever in his life". Woo-hoo.

The classic romcom we were all craving for

I said in a comment prior of the drama that everyone was saying they hoped it would be as good as the webtoon.. and I said I hoped it would be better.
As I said before, the webtoon had a cliché story but good characters, so the actors could make it or break it - since it would depend a lot on chemistry and acting.

Fortunately... they gave us so much more!

For me the best surprise was the comical parts - specially in the early episodes - they were really funny and fresh. The actors did a superb job (special praises to the main girls duo, imo) and also overall writing and directing.

The only downside compared to the webtoon was the change in Taemoo's grandfather final storyline. Originally he supported Taemoo and Hari's relationship and also defended Sunghoon from Young Seo's father (this last one was really touching). Such a shame his character lost all depth...

Nevertheless, a must watch for romcom addicts like me. A Business Proposal, you will be missed! :)

Not for everyone, but really well made

This type of drama is much more of a trigger to me than Tomorrow. THIS is depression, in its sutil and real way. And it's life, folks. That being said, it’s not my favorite kind of drama. I have to be mentally prepared to watch it. I like dramas to forget about life and have a pleasant time, but nevertheless, watching this is good for self reflection, but I wouldn’t rewatch it :)

I also think they did take alcoholism and depression lightly (the second one being almost a trait of someone's personality).
One really good point is that although the story doesn't have much speed, I ate this up in two days, which means the pace is quite good (great job of writing and directing).

And beware: if you don't like realistic characters, don't watch this.

I already watched the anime and read the manga and, although they are both well made, I didn't like the characters and the story itself. The writing and art is good, but it's basically about an abusive relationship and being happy about it (sorry to the people who love, I find no excuses for Kyouya's behavior).

Why did I see the movie? One reason: Yamazaki Kento. But, although he's still very handsome being blonde (and not a lot of Japanese guys can pull that off), I don't think he fits the role. Maybe because of his baby face, but his eyes weren't as cold and dark as the manga/anime character. Yamakento has that ideal beauty, and Kyouya has a unique trace in the manga/anime, so I would've liked if it was someone different.

FINALLY ABOUT THE MOVIE ITSELF: I found Kyouya a lot more kind and outspoken about his feelings here (this I actually liked), and his story was not developed AT ALL (he just seemed an ass for no reason, and those who know the story know that at least he had motives for being like that). I talked a lot about the ML, but the FL was different as well. She was less irritating but also less bright and excited, I guess? And that made her and the ML to not match each other, in my opinion. It was just awkward.

Conclusion: the movie made everything less abusive, but the actors and the lack of Kyouya's background story had it go downhill.

One of my all time favorite dramas

I keep coming back to this, it all just flows so naturally and beautifully! Love the rhythm and specially the characters development. The actors did an AMAZING job, and it wouldn't be the same without them.

Although I do like the story, the reason this drama is so special to me is that you really believe in all relationships and personalities. They grow up and change, but all changes are just natural and you care about them.

Ok, I'm gonna say it: Lu Shi Yi made this drama my fav. I fell for him like I did for Mr Darcy in Pride and Prejudice - slowly but strongly. The actor gives so much personality and truth you cannot not like him.

Of course, not everything is perfect. In my rewatches I skip parts from the two other couples, which I really couldn't care less, but the first time I watched it made perfect sense for them to exist, and they did make the story overall seem more realistic (you'll know why when you watch it. - DO WATCH IT).

That was, literally, such a drama.
DO NOT watch this if you're looking for a light hearted drama, this one is heavy from the beginning to the end.
Wonderful actors, amazing writing. I can't say enough good things about this.
It has its flaws, of course, the biggest one in my opinion being the development of the female lead. But on the other hand, the male lead character building was outstanding. In the end her story is just an accessory to his. But as a whole it was so worth it!
[WARNING: may contain spoilers]
Oh, and I have to say I started thinking it was about a sociopath and hated the way they were romanticizing his condition, I almost dropped it because of this. If you're like me, don't give up! They make you understand him way better.
Cheers to a good (and heavy and sad) drama!!

FLAWLESS. This should be hyped up

I just love this soooo much! One of my all time favorite dramas.
If you liked Go Ahead or Le Coup de Foudre definitely watch this. It's shorter but the characters are really well developed.
I saw some people saying it didn't have much romance, but there IS enough to make you go all fluffly and happy, so don't worry.
I have no idea why it isn't more popular, I'm already telling everyone I know to watch this.
Do yourself a favor and watch this already, I was filled with joy watching this and I hope you will be to!

Since there are a lot of reviews from people who only watched the movie, I decided to help out those who read the manga and are thinking about watching this.

Well, I read the manga and, maybe for this reason (since I already knew the ending), I actually enjoyed the movie a lot more than the manga itself. The manga gave me huge SLS because the second lead and the female lead relationship was much more developed in the manga (or probably is just Yamazaki Kento bias wrecking anyone even though his character is a coward - I think I'm just in love).
Also, maybe because I was expecting to hate the FL as much as I did reading the manga, I didn't find her as unbearable in the movie.

It looks like I hated the manga, right? Haha! But I actually really enjoyed reading it, just the ending had me go crazy.
Anyways: if you read the manga, do watch this! I like it even better because, even though is shorter, it develops the story in the right places so you won't get as frustrated :)

If you just finished a really dramatic series.. watch this.

I really enjoyed this light hearted and drama-free ride!

The actors and their characters are charismatic and nice. The story isn't really deep, but the chemistry between the main leads make it enjoyable. There's no big plot twist or huge dramatic events, and it's a nice change in the midst of a lot of over-the-top dramas.

Overall I recommend it for those looking for something light and innocent to watch.

PS: Fiction Guo is simply GORGEOUS here......... just a bonus that I really appreciated haha

Honestly, I would've rather just rewatched the anime. I feel like I wasted remembering the story on something so below in quality.
I know it sucks comparing the manga/anime with the adaptation because it will never be as good, specially when you try to squeeze a whole manga into a movie...
But I thought the acting was poor and I felt no chemistry at all between the two main leads. Some beautiful scenes of the manga seemed too unnatural or rushed.
It's such a shame, cause both the manga and the anime are big favorites of mine.

Perfect adaptation

I've watched the anime and read the manga multiple times and I'm SO satisfied with this. It's almost perfect. The rhythm, the acting... just wow! Beautiful adaptation.
That said, I just can't be unbiased, cause any flaw the story might have I've already expected. So for me this grade is unbelievably low. As an adaptation it deserves at least 9 or 10.
If you enjoyed the anime or the manga, you'll most likely love this. It's not cringey nor shallow as the movie (I wrote a terrible review for it, but for comparison purposes, the phrase that summarizes it the most is "I would've rather just rewatched the anime, I feel like I wasted remembering the story on something so below in quality.").
