This review is based on the first season only and this drama is okay for me, okay enough to continue to the second season.

What I like about this drama is Tan Song Yun's acting. I've watched her in Go Ahead and really like her then so this is the main reason i'm watching Fox's summer. Her character and acting makes this show enjoyable and made me interested to see how two people with such different personalities that annoys each other can fall in love. There are some funny moments that if i do rewatch this drama, i would just rewatch those.

If you like family drama, you might enjoy this drama. As for me, I have mixed feelings on this drama. I like the story and the two male leads and the little girl (She's the same little girl from Two Fathers, a Taiwanese drama that I've watched), but I really do not like the main female lead. Her acting is bad for portraying someone who's diagnosed with a life threatening disease. It's like she doesn't show any emotions, her emotions when the disease part is not revealed until we know she has that disease is the same. This drama is actually enjoyable, I like the family and friendship value, but for me (other people may feel different - this is just me) the main female lead ruined the show for me.

Telenovela-like c-drama

This drama started out good and interesting. The way i feel about it is like watching those telenovelas with evil mother-in-law and other girl trying to get your man using every means possible. It's interesting at first and moves in quite a pace that makes me want to hit that "next episode" button. However, it goes downhill at around halfway. It gets boring and the evil-ness gets a bit too much to handle. I started watching this for Hawick Lau and Zhao Li Ying and they both did quite okay, but not great to make the performance or the drama memorable years from now. OST is just so-so, not one I would shazam and put on my Apple Music playlist. Rewatch value? No way I would put myself through something like this for the second time! Exruciatingly painful!

I wouldn't recommend you watch this drama, except if you really really want to see the two main leads (or any other actors/actresses in this drama) or you are into those "telenovela" like plot. Other than that, don't waste your time and stay away from this one.

I'm not going to write a long review for this drama. Overall, this is a cute university life drama, with art as the main theme. There are plenty of cute and "gaga" scenes between the main male and female leads. I like how the main lead (Qin Shen) looks so cool and like he doesn't care about the female lead, but he does care about Yuan Qian in his own special way that to me is kinda cute. This drama is so light. There is no conflict, no villain character that makes your blood boil and no complicated relationship or plot twist. Just a light and entertaining drama. I really like the dorm roommates of both Qin Shen and Yuan Qian. They are so funny and adorable, especially Chen Qi Nan. They are the flavors of this drama for me and i look forward to scenes with them more than the main leads because they are so funny and make me laugh so hard. Music is just okay, not one that make you reminisce about the drama and go gaga all over again. As for Rewatch value, I might rewatch some scenes (particularly the ones with the roommates). Highly recommended for those who like Put Your Head On My Shoulder, Love O2O and A Love So Beautiful, as they have similar vibes (to me at least :))

Surprisingly Good Drama

I stumbled upon this drama while browsing on Viki by Rakuten. The synopsis looks interesting enough and it only has 12 episodes with 45 minutes each. So I gave it a try. I ended up binge watching this drama in 1.5 days! The story is nothing new. The main theme of the drama is about infidelity. But they way they tell the story keeps you curious and interested with the plot twists and turns that I hadn't expected. I didn't like the ending though, it's an open ending and will depend on viewer's interpretation. I never like open endings like this (maybe the producers left it like that to have the possibility for a second season?)

If you're looking for something light and fluffy, this show is highly recommended.

I just finished a few heavy and depressing dramas (Royal Nirvana is one of them) and I was looking for something light that I don't need to digest and think so much about the plot and twist and turns. This was one of the recommendation and it's available on Netflix, so I started this one. I finished them in 3 days and this is me having only had time to watch at night after dinner before going to sleep. So it's pretty impressive for me :)

What I like about this drama is that it's light and cute and only has 24 episodes. I did not skip any parts and I even like the secret scenes at the end of each episode. These scenes are like the deleted scenes from each episode. I also like the chemistry between Gu Wei Yi and Situ Mo. They are so cute together.

I won't write a long review for fear of many spoilers.. but I would definitely recommend this drama.

This is a story about the romance of a 35 year old hard working independent woman with a super cute guy 12 years her junior. The drama defies the traditional norm in a Chinese family and it is also shown in Qin Lan's mom's character, where she always worries about her daughter getting married and always pressure her to not focus on her career and instead find a husband, get married and become a traditional wife. Her mom also tried to matchmake Dylan Wang's character with her friends' daughter, which shows that she has a traditional Asian family values, where female's role in this world is to be a good wife and mother. The focus on this drama on the other hand shows a shift from traditional to modern society values, such as career woman, being single is okay and dating younger man is not a problem.

The drama is not very fast-paced, which is one of my biggest complaints about this show, that i got bored waiting for things to happen. But I still think it's one worth to watch. I like the story, character and the actors. The drama is more on the mature side and the romance is not fluffy, butterfly in your stomach relationship, but it's worth watching.

This is a sad but good movie.

I have watched the series version with Zheng Shuang and Ma Tian Yu and I really enjoyed watching the story as well.
Both the movie and series deal with a difficult and more mature issue, such as bullying, divorce and suicide (Not your typical c-drama romance topic). The actors and actresses I thought portrayed their roles well, especially the movie version. It's like you can feel her heartache and sorrow just by looking at her eyes.

This movie (and the series) are not for everyone, but if you like a "darker" drama theme, I would definitely recommend watching the movie and the series.

Alright, this is quite a difficult review to make. This is a very very very long drama. I don't think i've seen any modern drama with that many episodes. Historical or period drama is a different matter, if it's too short there are many background story that didn't get to be developed. But for modern drama with this many episode, everyone's background story is over developed LoL.

Don't get me wrong. I think this is a good drama and i got emotionally invested with the main characters, especially Cheng Tian You. I really like his character and really like Wallace Chung as CTY. I thought he played his part well. I like the family and friendship bond in this drama. The bond that you create since childhood and carry them into adulthood and help you get through many milestones in your life. Jin Ling and Bei Xiao Wu are two really amazing friends that one would wish to have in their life. There are times when I start to get bored watching this drama (because it's soooooo long...) but some scenes managed to pull me back in again and I was finally able to finish this.

My criticism for this drama, despite the fact that it is LONG........., is that there are way too many hospital scenes. Seems like each and every one of the characters fell sick at one time or another. This is confusing and feels forced and I got sick of looking at the same hospital and its rooms LoL. Another criticism is the flashbacks; there are too many flashbacks that is unnecessary given that audience already saw those in the first place and know it when it was referred to in later episodes and this makes the drama draggy in parts.

I really like the songs in this drama and the songs that played are fitting to the scene and characters that when I listen to it, i immediately associated it with a character.

As for rewatch value, maybe no because it's such a long drama.

Overall, the fact that I manage to finish watching this drama means that I did enjoy it. Wallace Chung's character in this drama makes it all worthwhile :)

Every once in a while I enjoy a drama that's closer to life experiences and not your regular over the top things that "only happens in drama or movies". My Story For You is one that is true to life. It's actually loosely based on the author Tang Jia San Shao's personal life, his ups and downs and his true love story with his wife. There are some differences of course, but I think this is as real as you can get, considering the "entertainment value" for the viewers.

What I like about this drama is it's not solely about romance. It is about friendship and family and life values. The ML maybe one of the most unlucky person you met, but this drama taught you that perseverance and hard work can bring success in the end. Another thing that I like is the nostalgic feeling that I get from the earlier period, like the early days of the internet etc. I also like most of the characters, especially Zhang Yao Yao and Li Ning Feng. They're my favorites. I also like the character developments in this drama too, from being poor and single, to having a family of their own and how the characters faced difficulties and overcoming those difficulties.

This is a long drama, but when you are invested in the characters and their growth, it won't feel as long.

I was looking for a melodrama and stumbled upon this one. I've watched Hawick Lau's other drama and thought that I'd give this one a try, plus it's only 36 episodes, so it should be moving in a good pace. The drama started out strong and kept me interested and curious as to what's going to happen next. However, there are some inconsistencies which I don't know if it's because i wasn't paying attention towards the middle or it's just inconsistencies. For example, Hawick's character is deaf. Most movies or western series that I've watched, when the character is deaf, he or she doesn't speak well because they never heard how other people or themselves when they speak. So they speak in a mumbled or muffled sounds. Hawick's character speaks like a normal person without disabilities. Maybe he's not born with this disability or his hearing is only slightly impaired. He does wear a hearing aid in the first couple of episodes and later on when his disability is found. Another one is the character that i hate the most, Ying Ying. She's supposed to be this huge star and they did show that in the beginning, that she used a body double to escape her fans when she arrived at the airport. But other than that, she seemed to be going everywhere as a normal person would with no disguise and no fans lurking about. This is minor to the story, but kinda bugs me a little. The drama focuses more on the business, revenge and family angle with romance thrown in more like a sideline. So if you're looking for romance drama, this is not the one for you. Other than that, the drama is just so-so. I skipped many parts, so maybe that's why I might have missed Hawick's background story on his disability. Overall, this would not be a drama that I recommend.

Love the way he looks at her!

Okay, the title can be misleading LoL

I've been on a Zhang Zhe Han binge lately because of the whole boycott scandal and if i delay any longer, his dramas might be taken down from iQiyi. That might be the wrong reason to start watching this drama, but hey, I like Zhang Zhe Han :) It turns out that he is actually the only good thing about this drama. The story is nothing special and I felt like watching an old melodrama from before 2010 era if not for the cinematography. The first part of the drama (until about episode 18ish) is good and moves in the right pace and I like the growing relationship between ZZH and the female lead. ZZH's character is a cool, arrogant guy..... but the way he looks at the FL completely charms and melts my heart and it's like he suddenly transformed to the most warmhearted and caring man in the world! I thought it's worth spending hours of my time watching this drama just to see the romantic ways he looks at her! However, as we get to the middle part of the drama where the identity of the real Zhang Min is revealed, it starts to get draggy and the slightly annoying characters become irritating, like the father, the uncle, and even Tao Min. This drama is not pure romance focus, so there is the business story with inheritance and revenge angle, which I don't particularly enjoy because it's not done properly especially towards the end.

I love the songs in this drama that I added them to my playlist on Apple Music. As for rewatch value, once is enough!

Overall, other than looking at Zhang Zhe Han and unless you're a fan of Zhang Zhe Han, I would not recommend this drama.

I watched The Bloom at Ruyi's Pavilion first, which was not good in my opinion. But, to support Zhang Zhe Han, I'm giving this one a try. In short, I like this one better than Ruyi. The flow and storyline of this drama is more engaging and easier to follow. The characters that Zhang Zhe Han and Ju Jing Yi played here are also more likable, although it lacks the lovey-dovey romantic moments that Ruyi has. This drama is not romance focused. It does have some "awww" moments and the love story built into the flow, but the main storyline is the court politics and revenge. If you are looking for a lot of romance and "awww" scenes, this is not the drama for you. But if you like intrigues, politics and revenge with a bit of magic (the poisoned-army that reminds me of zombies in The Walking Dead), this would be your cup of tea. The pace is not too draggy to be able to enjoy the storyline and see character interaction and development. As for rewatch value, I might not put this on my re-watch list. Once is enough for me ;)

This is a feel good romance drama. The story is not new, may have been made into many dramas, but the cast and chemistry between the ML and FL makes it different. This is the first drama that I've seen both the FL and ML, but I'm impressed with them, particularly the FL. She is not over the top and she makes every episode enjoyable. I also like the gender reversal role in this drama. Contract marriage usually involves a richer male lead with an ordinary female lead, but in this drama, the role is reversed. The little kid who appear later in the drama is so cute.. With drama like this, there are of course some cliche and "huh" moments, but it's not too annoying that it takes away the enjoyment of watching the drama. Soundtrack for this drama is uplifting, ones that you can repeat while reminiscing about romantic parts of the drama, especially the way the ML looks at the FL. As for rewatch value: definitely! I will definitely watch this again in the future.

Entertaining but not the best

Finished watching season 2 of this drama. Disappointed with the ending. The first season was good. Really entertaining, many funny moments that made me laughed. This drama is simple, not many complicated plots, so it's good if you want to watch something entertaining that you don't have to think too much. I like the OST, especially the ending theme song and the song that Zhao Lu Si sang. Costume and design is also so-so, kinda shows that this drama is made with a low budget. The best part is the characters, they are fun to watch. I hate the ending though :)
