I haven't read AO3 a lot before. I did, but Bad Buddy and Pat/Pran are the first one to make me spend a lot of time there to read the growing number of stories.
I like this one as well. It is still in progress, and seems that there will be many more chapters to go. Relatively similar to the Pat and Pran story in the series with some alterations.

I don't like Mame's works either. All of them are following the same patterns, and honestly, it is rather disturbing at times. We need more healthy contents like Bad Buddy and PatPran!

It also has more likes (147k) vs Bad Buddy's official trailer (135k)
I am watching how Cutie Pie will turn out to be. Their EP 1 is quite good, but Bad Buddy of course is still better (note - this is subjective)

I mentioned Cutie Pie the Series by Mandee Channel (the same one that produced Why R U?) earlier on, which is now almost at 5.4 million views for the first episode halfway through the week. This was better than Bad Buddy's episode 1 during the same time frame.
And I don't know just how the much hyped Between Us (BounPrem - WinTeam) by Studio Wabi Sabi will turn out to be when it airs later this year. Bad Buddy does have serious competitions in terms of popularity going forward.

(As I often said, I wish Thai BL series have the popularity of Korean and particularly, immensely popular Chinese drama series. If only that's the case... GMM may be huge in Thailand BL industry, but it's tiny compared to the mainstream Thai TV - comparing GMM's One 31 to Channel 3 and 7 and other competitors https://www.statista.com/statistics/1056904/thailand-top-ten-tv-channels-by-rating/, and even much, much smaller as compared to the K-Drama and C-Drama giants!)

Note that this is just popularity comparison, not about quality. (Now you know why GMMTV is now beginning to appreciate what a phenomenon Bad Buddy has become - I wish they had foresight of how it would turn out to be, and began supporting it much earlier on, the way they did for 2gether and BrightWin)
