Hahaha they turned ML and MC into brothers for censorship? It reminds me of Sailor Moon where they turned Neptune and Uranus into cousins to hide the lesbian relationship lol
I was just scrolling through and spotted this on a review: "responsible perspective of those heavy themes"
How ignorant! Honestly, saying such things is rather offensive, because this type of moralistic hand-wringing is why we all must suffer under draconian censorship laws in the first place.
"Oh, only show X theme in a certain way or it's bad"... It's easy to say that for things you dislike, but people must also realize this can, and will be applied to things they like as well. Censorship does not pick and choose. It is a blanket hammer to everything. The best choice is for full creative freedom in the world of fiction.
As for the show itself. I quite like that this novel (and thus the adaptation) does not shy away from the darker themes! It is refreshing to see these themes not shown only as "sad solemn and shameful" type things either. There are many different ways to portray such scenes without being boring and pure, and they clearly succeeded in doing so here. Good work.
I hope that more novels will be adapted through international co-productions such as this. It's a promising future for the Danmei genre.
Can you please tell me the name of the novel it's based on ?
What I'm saying is that the novel the person above linked was a totally different story that is not related to this one. The characters and entire plot was different.

I looked at this novel, that is a different novel.
For example, it is transmigration, but the disciple was experimented on by the original, and the MC was then repeatedly killed in revenge. It seems like a time loop scenario. Still fun, though.
I read both novel and watched SVSSS and I agreed lol
It seems there are a lot of references to MXTX works For example, the cliff scene and the rabbit seem to reference MDZS, plus, ML haunting MC's dreams is like SVSSS. Later on, ML also wears a mask like WWX.
I hope the girl Charim gets more screen time. We barely see her when she is one of the leads. Alhough she seems…
In real life it's common for siblings to resent one that has a disability because they take all all the attention from the parent/s. You can see it too, clearly, Da Rim is the favored child, maybe because she had been losing her sight.
- Since I usually add titles whenever I stumble upon something I can't really tell you how long it took me (and…
Ah, that makes it easier too. I meant that you could make a Google Doc with the clickable links inside, make it look pretty and easy to find each year, country etc... Though sharing a folder would be pretty easy as well.
So really it is a Thai-Chinese co-production, not a Chinese one.
I think we should be careful to promote it this way, because it could get too much attention online and then the censorship overlords will find another way of blocking it.
Maybe it's paranoia but also AO3 got so much bad attention and banned in China because of people reporting it. Unfortunately.
Wait, I'm confused... Can you tell me how it's "technically Thai"?🤨
I read one of the characters is a Thai actor, I was mistaken or it was an error then it seems, though there is just one actor, "Achi Sukonlaphat Sribubpha", whom is Thai. (I don't remember which character, I am on episode 3 only right now, maybe he comes later or is a minor character.) It's still wonderful to see that there is co-operation between different countries.
I wonder if some other countries could also do so; for instance Australia has a LOT of Chinese-Australian people living here. Plus there is some funding for Australian made productions too. In fact, they actively WANT more Australian productions.
Many opportunities for creative thinking, it seems.
That was a great ending. It needed like 15 more minutes to make it complete. They kind of left Evil Daddy on read,…
If they figure out a loophole the censors will do their best to close it up, so the companies better get in quick.
Maybe some of the studios with an already finished series can "co-produce" with another overseas studio for a bit of extra post processing or editing to get it out before times up.

I guess it's not bad for a short-form drama, though. Decent costuming, nice enough nusic.
Each episode is around 5 minutes or so in length, and there are 25. The entire thing takes 1:30 to watch.

All the best!

That way, you can also restrict the access to all of them easily.
