So, continuing: I feel it is a special skill and competence to be able to deliver quality (equals credibility) in such short time slot, as an actor. I hope for, but don’t dare to push for normal length features for these actors, as they might not deliver in those (eg it seems the fl is lead in Decreed by fate - or love? But I totally forgot her there, but will recall her performance in maids reverence forever).

It is indeed a revelation in its sort, and for me it was the quality of the story and it’s presentation, that made me watch it. I have a proper allergy to mini dramas as they often throw one in some story that doesn’t have any context, I really don’t like guessing what and why. This one is mini and worked out the essence of the story, no fillers allowed, due to lack of time. In a sense this is more difficult to film, as it requires actors to come into modus instantly and build chemistry instantly etc. I saw now the Fl in a couple of these short ones (eg Emperor or boss of something like this). That story is also brilliant in its directness and simplicity (the ML is the mL in Princess something above, I think you recommended that one, Hikomori, million thanks; also a jewel; underrated).
Chen Yuqi did great portraying Jin Ayin. She shows the variety of expressions and has great chemistry with Hu…
Many thanks. I always think that it is a two way street, how people perform. She is a solid actress and I liked her a lot in Ashes of love and also in that saber slaying dragon thing. Thanks again.
OMG! So now if she’s pregnant they won’t know who’s kid it is? What th heck? Didn’t expect this at all . But in fact this fits in the character development of the nasty nephew; it’s just so cruel. So what next? With just four episode to go until the end… what a start of the week, and now wait for another almost 24 hours to be continued… By the way, I watched 25 and 26 without subs. They weren’t even needed this time. Talking about a picture tells more than a thousand words. Good actors. Kudos. You just messed up the beginning of my week…
Based on the comments below, I won’t be watching this one. One question only: how did the FL do? The actress? Because she’s gonna be in one drama I’m waiting for, curious how she did here. Many thanks for any feedback.

Well, it is a far better republican romance drama, even if short, than some of the long ones. For sure. I couldn’t finish Fall in love (plastic fantastic in rep times, even when actors looked oh so good); struggled with the one with the lady from Rattan as FL; and finished Love in the flames of war only for Shawn Dou, the FL was soo annoying there. This drama, if longer, and keeping the misunderstandings to the minimum, would be great!
Qua element of surprise of reinvigorating a genre on its own, as LBFAD did for xianxia, I doubt it could do that (but just my opinion :), peace! )

Agree with everything said here. Also, I find especially Dylan professional, and very very elegant. Was thinking wether they have stylists; personally I found Dylan the single most elegant during the live stream. Already pictured him in a republican era feature. But don’t shoot me for this; of course I love the rest to bits as well. Moved from BTS of this to some variety shows DW is in: hilarious, Wonderland2 (it’s on WeTV).
Sad and tragic ending usually have deep impact on viewers... idk...hope im wrong 😂 .. and all of us wrong...…
You are correct. Sometimes the mental blow is quite strong, sometimes I forget it and start rewatching. Just to realize halfway the story what the ending will be. Crying and fighting myself not to watch further . Meaning the rewatch value is high, but it comes at a price.

The dimples on the young man’s face are exactly like Tianyi’s. I can’t make it out of the pic if it is future or they are finally done with sorting out issues. On a lighter note: at least she wears a stunning dress there :). I mean hereby : am doing my best to see the sunny side of the story, as far as possible.
