I also assume that the ML is not really their direct ancestor, the ML's guard/bestfriend maybe. Cause if the FL is the girl in the picture (they married and all) and given from the clips of the song intro she will come back to the future, so there's no direct descendant made. Maybe the ML give his properties to his loyal best friend and that's why the Shens' family have the old house mansion.

I think he doesn't know it yet, cause he's always asking MY who she is. And all of them really believe that MX is a man

I think it just acting, cause her role in Ride On movie with Jackie Chan is good, portraying a woman in her late 20's and she doesn't act cute there at all

And maybe the one who received the last letter is Shen Cheng, what if YHT and TYX tell Shen Xiaojun the story about the red post mail and let him kept it since their family is wealthy and put it infront to one of their family businesses. So, YHT and TYX can still visit even they go to other places. That's why we saw the last seen where a man's hand opening the post mail and read the letter.

And what if there's still chance where all of them meet in the future since all of them know each others' names and Yu Nian remember it all so she could've search for them, and maybe if Shen Cheng is still alive he also remembers it.

What if Shen Cheng's father is Shen Xiaojun and his real mother is not Ye Haitang but Wang Manyu (Shen Xiaojun's crush). And His real mother may have died delivering him. Since both of them are friend of YHT, and Shen Xiaojun's family also support her during college, she marry Shen Xiaojun to be the mother of Shen Cheng but it doesn't workout and Shen Xiaojun understand that, that's why they've divorced.

Evidence: There's a picture after the ending scene, not so clear but it's like a graduation photo of Shen Cheng with his real father. Almost at the end of the outro with danish cookie box, maybe Ye Haitang and Tang Yi xun still friends with Shen Xiaojun and found out about Shen Cheng's identity that its the boy they've communicated 35yrs ago and give a him a trinket or a reminder (like a box danish cookies).

Their confessions really hits, instead of saying just 'I love you"; them "I can be your family" "With you here, I'm not afraid of anything" - TYX, "You matter more" and "When have I fear misfortune? Having you is my greatest fortune" - YHT. waaaaaaahh 😭😭😭
