I can give you one big spoiler, that the protagonist (Wei Wuxian) dies and then comes back 16 years later from a process called resurrection (13 years later in the novel) and because of this the storyline is divided into past and present.
Apart from this spoiler, I can tell you that the story has loads of fun, heartbreaks, annihilation, depression, yearning, masterminding, realization, babygirlism, flirting, possessiveness, proposal, indirect marriage, etc. (yeah LOADS OF EVERYTHING THAT I MENTIONED HERE). Overall it's a very fun and a very powerful storyline. So, watch it for **THE GREAT STORYLINE**.
In the novel, it's a very happy ending both the leads (Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji) get married and live happily ever after, but because the drama is highly censored, the makers have toned it down and gave us a satisfactory open ending.
So you can actually make your own ending based on the last scene. If you wanna take the two leads as lovers, you can or if you wanna take them as friends, you can do that too. It's very open, but not sad at all. At first your heart might skip a few beats because of anxiousness but eventually you will smile after realizing what just happened. It's a happy ending a/c to me in the drama too.

I couldn't accept the ending that's why I read the manhua, It consoled me alot but it was still incomplete to me so I read the novel. Believe me, the novel is what you need to feel at peace. There are some things you will never know if you don't read it. Take your time, I took my time too (just a suggestion though).

This story is about Sheng Shaoyou, an S-class alpha, who falls for Hua Yong, who is an Enigma but is **disguised as an Omega**.
So what's happening is, SSY falls for HY thinking he's an Omega but all of this was HY's plan to make SSY fall for him. HY had a big crush on SSY since his childhood because of a minor interaction, and he is super duper obsessed with SSY and knows everything about him through years of stalking. So now that he knows SSY like Omegas and takes **alot of pride** in being an S-class alpha, he's willing to be an Omega just so that he could lure him in his trap and make him obsessively fall for him and his plan worked perfectly. But little did he know that he will be exposed sooner or later which becomes the cause of their temporary break-up but they make-up.
Through lies, manipulation and lots of toxicity they somehow maintained their relationship and get happy ending.
Shen Wenlang (another S-Class Alpha and Hua Yong's complice) and Gao Tu (a real omega **disguised as Beta**) are other characters and second CP of this show. Ohhh wow, I was just checking up on Zhexu and Mijin and i found out that both of them got support role in the same series once again. Finally, Zhexu gets a new role too. I'm happy for him. I hope they get more important roles in the future.
I think there really was no point in having GT and SWL if they were gonna end up like that. I especially started feeling bad for GT overtime. It really needed just one more episode to wrap things up (probably). The process of SWL making up to GT in every way possible, just like how HY made up to SSY for that terrible manipulation (though I was not satisfied with his process but whatever, if SSY is happy then there is nothing to say).
I finished it last October. I quite enjoyed it (idk why) but this is hella toxic. I enjoyed it probably bcz Huang Xing's acting of a creep was crazy good also SSY was kinda cute, I felt so bad for him.
The stark contrast of their dreams is what gets me everytime. 😂
It really is like you can't tell what a person is thinking from their face. People called Wei Wuxian "Satyr of anarchy, Yiling Patriarch" and Lan Wangji "Pure and nobel, Hanguang-Jun". But just like what WWX said, who knew he was this kind of Hanguang-Jun.
Actually, I was more worried bcz i knew the fact that It has thinking of it's own. Anyways, it's really better to think in this way, that 'it wanted what WWX did'. Otherwise I felt so bad for LWJ and Bichen both.
WWX just couldn't comprehend what he was feeling towards LWJ, when he was bullying him and getting him angry all the time. I also only realized that he might have liked him all the time when he said, "I really like it when you get mad". He really suddenly stopped being oblivious that he even thought to himself that "Is gayness contagious through the body ?". 😂
