If anyone pays attention, this is what happens with young emperors. The baby emperor from Perfect Crown (KDrama) was being controlled by his mother, grandfather and ministers. Same to the baby Emperor from Ashes to crown (His uncles), and even one of the OGs from Moon Embracing the Sun (His ministers) and everyone's favorite POJ (Xie Zheng was regent). Now imagine these little emperors coming of age, they're ready to rule, but the old people won't let go of power because it does not suit their personal interests, and we get our ML Ying Gua. Some of y'all are always complaining stories don't follow logic but you also can't follow the line of logic. You just want OP leads. At this point, I understand FL being braver since she has nothing to lose compared to ML.

I don't know how that translates to being dumb for some people. He's an emperor through and through, and even the FL admitted that a ruler's heart is unfathomable. People are just not used to a younger emperor coming into his power after he has been assisted to rule by regents since he was young. Most dramas just end with the young emperor taking the throne and "Happily ever after," none of the struggles.
