I actually came here to comment on this. I miss him in romantic dramas, but that was a traumatic time for him (FOMH airing period).

Honestly, I love how feminism was portrayed here. It respects the constraints that women face in society even today. It's much harder for women to accomplish the same feats as men because they face more constraints. Also, it does not completely dumb down the men just to make the women stand out. The women stand out despite being surrounded by intelligent (albeit scheming) men. I also love Mrs. Yu. I find that she and Fu Tingyun are the smartest women on this show, but she also acknowledges that the other women are only doing their best to survive in a man's world.

Me neither. I'm worried about their relationship. Plus recently he talks at Tingyun, not with her. He hardly ever asks for her opinion unless he needs her help. He no longer listens to her

Methinks Zhao Ling has become a tad too jaded. While I understand why, I do miss the soft boi he used to be. I just hope he doesn't get consumed by his quest for power

The secondhand embarrassment I get from Fan Yake's antics my God. Everyone knows what she's up to and what game she's playing, but somehow she constantly thinks she's winning. At this point I can just imagine them laughing at her behind her back

Okay, I stand corrected. I had considered the baby the focal point/main character, so most of the storytelling choices didn't make sense. In which case they should have named it "My Universe" referring to the woman's universe. Also, they should've hired you to do the synopsis instead since this is misleading. I went in expecting a completely different story so when they didn't deliver, I was honestly confused and disappointed. Based on their synopsis, it does feel like they forgot what story they were trying to tell. But with the woman as a focal point, then they did tell a story I guess 🤷‍♀️

I feel you. Especially the part about them making an appearance after 2-3 years with a mediocre drama. It's a gamble at this point, and it makes me so sad. And honestly, the 16-episode dramas were just the right length. 8 and 12 episode shows don't always do justice. Especially for, like, remarried empress where the source material is long. 10 episodes to show Navier's relationship with Soveishu, get to know Rashta, then divorce, then develop their relationship with Heinrey, then a satisfying ending... I don't know how they'll pull it off. I hope they do though 🤞🤞

He's stupid. Ruining his own life just to spite his mom. I kinda feel sorry for his mother. For once I understand a mother's choice in a spouse for her son. Unfortunately, he was not smart enough to see it. And more unfortunately, his mother, no matter how smart, will have to share in his fate just because she is a woman.
