If you don’t like misunderstanding and dumb plot for secondary characters, skip episode 31-39. The commentary above is correct, misunderstanding between the ML and FL was unnecessary toward the end. However, beside the last episode, episode 37 was my favorite and I do recommend you to watch it if you want to know how story went between 31-40. Without spoiling too much, I did cry bucket of tears. I believe 37 ends in cliffhanger so you might need to watch a bit of ep 38.

Give it a try. Everyone has different taste. Except for a few episodes and dumb characters, I actually enjoyed this drama. I love the chemistry between ML and FL.

Gao Mirong redeem herself in ep 38 if I remember correctly. Zhao Xiao is a-hole until the very end.

For me too! Aside from the stalkers, this drama was not a typical c-drama storyline. Every time there was a problem, I was expecting the typical dragged out drama. So it was a surprise that everything works out for the ML and FL. I like that Baoning was the first one to confess that she likes Li Qian, Li Qian marriage proposal (a first one in c-drama land), his promises to her parents, there respect for each other, their tacit understanding, and their goofy side! I think this drama would have had a better rating if they ended Zhao Xiao and Gao Marong obsession for the ML and FL after they returned from Yongqing state. They should’ve made dethroning QingThai and helping QingAn become emperor as the arching story. Then show case Baoning inventions. Ugh, I am still mad a lot of scenes didn’t make to it to the final cut, especially Baoning wings invention and the bed scene. 🥴

Watch it or at least give it a try. I love the chemistry between JJY and Joseph. Their banter in the first few episodes made me continue to keep watching. They get married in ep 12. So it’s a very sweet drama with a little bite of angst and tiny bite of misunderstanding. It’s not

Yeah, majority of Ju Jingyi dramas are like that. However, there were some scenes in there that I am surprise JJY are ok with. I guess she is comfortable with Joseph. Usually her dramas, she limited the amount of kisses either cheeks or mouth (3 to be exact). This drama, Joseph definitely kissed her more than 3 times (mainly on the cheeks, haha), they hold hands a lot, back hugs, and he made Li Qian character a saint among all husbands and boyfriends. It’s a very sweet drama. They could have done away with Gao Marong character and kept it short, I think it would have had better reviews. Anytime her studio produces dramas, they like to use JJY popularity to promote the others SNH48 girls. Ergo the unnecessary characters. 😔

Did you drop it? I actually love this drama, well I watched only for Joseph Zeng and Ju Jingyi! I fast forward Gao Marong part. If you did, you’re missing out on the lovely dovey scenes. 😝

The name of drama was changed to Chinese translation “Biography of Jia Nan Chaun” something like that. For international viewers, they kept it as is.

His new management is the ex-husband of his former manager. She is trashed anyway. When Joseph was first starting out in the entertainment business, he was on a variety show with his former manager. Carrying his wife everywhere because he is afraid she might injured herself! 😂 the way he acted when he thought she left/missing, and teaching her self defense ahhh, I would pay VIP membership to see that! Man, Li Qian definitely put all other husband in c-drama land to shame…except for Yue Hua of course, Haha
