On What's Wrong with Secretary Kim Jul 15, 2025
I rewatch this to enjoy Park Min Young’s performance. It also reinforces the Young Joon character does not have enough redeeming characteristics to offset being a monumental jerk. The character is much more palatable in the Thai version My Dear Secretary. It’s on Viki in the U.S.

I am watching this for Jung So Min. And as usual I like her acting. I don’t like Seung Hyo. When he finds out Seok Ryu is a cancer survivor by violating her privacy opening her personal papers, his reaction was why didn’t you tell me instead of saying I am so happy you are here. They find his mom at the bottom of a hill after she took a fall, his dad is holding his mom and instead of asking if she is alright, he asks them why didn’t they ask him about their gettting a divorce instead of just telling him she they were out for supper. The more I see him the less I like him. The show does have some good child actors. They’re fun to watch.

So we are just skipping over the fact that she still (somehow) thinks he’s a high schooler and is not only bringing…
He could be an 18 year old high schooler, her first encounter with him showed him as an adult , the voice over in the preview for episode 5 has her questioning if he is a student. The kiss was another kdrama contrived accident kisses. Bringing him porridge and medicine when he lied about being sick is something a nice person would do. She has made no direct romantic advances on him. If she made overt snd direct advances on him for sexual purposes that would be unlawful and a violation of teacher-student trust. She is not Mary Kay Latorneau.

I like OBS. I didn’t like in episode 15 after Ung’s nighttime exhibition a famous critic gives a negative review of the drawings. The artist Go-oh was successful for several years and his works were popular. So where was this famous critic during that time? It struck a wrong note. I guess a lazy writer couldn’t find another reason to get Ung to go to the school in France.

Adorable. This series made me feel good. I can see where it would be easy to do a season 2. Two of the leads are 89 and 78. I wish them all continued good health and maybe we get a season 2.

I watched this before it ended up on Tubi. I wanted to watch it again but I just can’t with the amount of commercials…
Overall HanGoo is an effing idiot. People should have stayed as far away from him as possible.

Lol it's intentional plot hole so they can wear more clothes and get sponsored
Ahh. Sponsorship. Didn’t think of that.

I’m curious how characters in these dramas have so many winter coats and jackets. Dong Kyung’s little house does not have room for all her outerwear. Doom has a house big enough for his. This isn’t the only drama like this. They must have a huge wardrobe allowance. I own one winter coat. I can wash it if necessary.

In this show Do Hee has a nice little apartment on the ground floor. Her ex boyfriend shows up on the scene and repeatedly shows up outside the apartment day and night, once even getting inside using the passcode he remembered from when they were together. The current boyfriend also was showing up there. It’s a fictional drama but still the writer should have had the ex arrested at least once. And Do Hee should have moved except her company is paying her rent.

Absolute wrong note. Episode 12. At the workshop retreat Hae Kyung returns in the evening. Do Hee comes out to talk to him. He confesses his love and says he wants to know every little thing about her. On the walk back to the building she tells him she likes classic movies. Then he suggests seeing a movie together. She responds there’s nothing in theaters she likes. Then he says I have a lot of classic movie DVD s at home. So scene opens. She’s on the couch, movie is playing, there’s a tray with snacks an 2drinks. He is out of the room in his office area working. NO! A guy who processed his love the day before and a psychiatrist who’s supposed to be sensitive to people’s feelings would not leave his girlfriend alone. That was such a wrong note.
