I don’t know when The Oath of Love (2022) was filmed (before or after she left HR) but she ruined the drama for me. i watched it for Xiao Zhan & would’ve rated it higher if it wasnt for Yangzi 😔 but i def see her growth in more recent dramas

i absolutely hated her in airheaded roles … and she had so many of those roles in the past. flourished peony changed my opinion of her. i think this drama deserves at least 8-8.5 at least from the first few eps. we’ll see!

whys this rated so low? the first 6 episodes are pretty interesting so far!
it’s not a romance (-heavy) drama so don’t expect it if you plan to watch this drama.

i actually have prejudice for the main FL actress from her previous work but her acting has become less annoying recently. im glad she’s taking more mature roles with more depth. i watch a lot of cdramas and this cured the recent decent/good cdrama release drought for me so far!

im coming back to comment after a year bc i started another drama with the same FL actress.

when i watched this drama, there were so many negative comments about her which i brushed off bc maybe it was just 1 role or unnecessary hate. I started watching her older drama “Find Yourself” (with Song Wei Long) and honestly most of her roles are a mix of bad acting & terrible script; bc she’s been getting so much hate for that role too…. every role she takes everyone is ‘annoyed/fustrated at the FL’

i’m literally only watching her dramas for the ML’s at this point but she’s the reason i drop them in the end… sigh

why does every evil character have a comeback era in this drama
it felt like propaganda to push people to be a good person / samaritan 🥲 i just wished karma took its course on those people and left it at that lol

this drama is actually such a hidden gem
finished 40 episodes in 3 days

only complaints (?)… i rarely get angry at characters from dramas… but the amount of times i wished the evil mom would just die off…. was a bit too high lol

and the character building just for shit to hit the fan every single time 😭😭😭😭

rating this drama a 9/10. romance and action keeping me on my toes the full 40 episodes. highly recommended!

i made an effort to focus and I realized that the transitions are part of the problem. Between scenes they’re zooming in and out and approaching the same scene from 10 different angles in a short period of time. its so distracting and making me lose more focus. The story and scenes are jumping all over the place… i’m literally asking “wtf is happening?!” “where did he/she/they come from/ where did he go?!” every few minutes
i wanted to watch this for Li Yunrui but I don’t know if this is it for me 😭

i haven’t watched princess agents and i feel so lost watching this. the first three episodes so far feels like they’re just blazing through content / recap / the story … so much is happening all at once and we’re getting snippets of the scenes. i can’t tell if i just can’t focus and missed important context in the drama either

I found out this is a sequel to another drama (Princess Agents; 2017 release date)

do we need to watch that to understand this drama’s storyline?

on my third rewatch already. theres no good dramas out right now that’s making me feel the same way i do when i watch Pursuit of Jade (and especially, Zhang Linghe)

this drama is so cinematic & ALL the actor and actresses are so beautiful; including the VILLIANS
