Guys, for your information, this drama is no historical genre like the melon account said. In fact, it's a fantasy supernatural drama which is set in modern era (21st century), like Wei Yu's other works (Parallel World, Qi Gen Xin Jian, San Xian Mi Hui, Rattan, Love on the Turquoise Land, and more).
Yeah, in the novel, Wen Peng is just a minor supporting character and doesn't have huge impact on the case, despite being suspected as a potential killer.
the aftermath of the bomb disposal when the FL ran outside to look for the ML. The same 4 guys in swat uniforms…
Seems like the screenwriter is getting more creative lol. FYI, there's no scene like this in the novel and not even a single stinking stuff about ticking time bomb is being mentioned 💣💣
Can you mention the name of the 2ML?Don't get me wrong. I only read the novel but don't watch the drama. Quite…
Nah, perhaps they make some differences in the drama. As far as I know, they did suspect Mr. Wen of being the killer, but he was actually innocent. I have no idea whether they are trying to incorporate Mr. Wen and the villain into one person or he's just a false bait. Btw, the killer is a makeup artist (won't spoil further anymore).
FYI, her friend had a teacher-student love back in high school. The killer happened to see them being intimate…
There might be some changes in the drama because as far as I know, there are only female rivals who are competing for ML. However, the same can't be said to FL (I mean no male rivals chasing her, except a dumb-and-dumber who got punched by ML for nothing). The killer did stalk her before, but he was interested in killing her. That's all.

100% serial killer material. There is a fair amount of romance and thriller. Aside from those murder cases, we still get to see the main leads' healthy relationship too.
there is no way her friend killed herself for a uni crush.
FYI, her friend had a teacher-student love back in high school. The killer happened to see them being intimate and recorded it in a CD. Later, she failed gaokao and the existence of the CD drove her crazy. Then, the killer took advantage of her condition and told her that the teacher was drowning in a river. Without thinking twice, she also jumped into the river and died of drowning (which was claimed as suicide when it wasn't. poor girl 🥺🥺). This is what happens in the novel tho.
Btw, she didn't have a crush on ML (my assumption) 'cause her heart was belonged to the teacher already.
One of iQIYI's notorious show, A Beautiful Lie, also adopts yin-yang crew method, just like Star Trails (I'm still refusing to acknowledge it's current title) and look at how badly it flopped (6.5 in MDL, you're breaking Guiness World Record for the worst C-drama this year, dude). I hope this show won't suffer similar fate as the former, though this is just my assumption. In the worst scenario, it'll be labeled with Dreadful or Troll lolll (the scoring system of O.W.L at Harry Potter series)
You mean Wild Jiang, I assume? If your theory is proven to be a true one, then it'll be too far-fetched for him…
I think I may have skipped that part since I feel it's just a waste of time (never in my mind would I know that those scenes hold vital role in uncovering the plot). Which episode is that? I'm going to check it out right now
Rumored casts are Wei Zhiming and Jing Tian.
Don't get me wrong. I only read the novel but don't watch the drama. Quite weird, isn't it?
