I've just started watching & the first 2 things i notice is FL's pretty BIG eyes & xu kai has got slimmer…
I remember her in "New Life Begins" and adored her baby face there. It seems that the Chinese standards for making actors and actresses thin have affected them as well.

also WHY is When Destiny Brings the Demon higher than this??? I watched the first episode and I can't understand…
To answer your question, I am watching both shows, and they are very different from each other. We shouldn't compare them like apples and oranges. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions about a drama, whether they like it or dislike it. Additionally, there are 4.7 billion people in Asia and millions of Western viewers who watch Asian dramas. Each of us has different cultures and tastes.

The ratings on MyDramaList (MDL) are just a small fraction compared to the wider viewership. For instance, "Moonlit" has over 300 votes, while "When Destiny Brings" has more than 600. A few fake accounts can easily skew the ratings on MDL. Moderators do not require a minimum time of membership to vote, which could help prevent disruptions in the ratings. However, a few hundred votes do not reflect the reality of these dramas. Their respective platforms indicate their huge popularity, showing a stark contrast between three-digit ratings and millions of viewers. MDL ratings do not accurately represent the true standing of these dramas.

Personally, I enjoy both shows.

Please don't mention other dramas. This drama has platform issue.
Why can’t we share our opinions? Is there censorship among MDL members? This is a forum, and as long as we express our views respectfully, no one should prohibit our discussions here. This is not an exclusive fan forum. Name is MyDramaList, not MyDramaFanOnly. we are all members sharing our thoughts, whether they are positive or negative, about the show. Comparisons are common throughout the MDL platform.

What’s ADWAD?
Reviews are positive. It is on my watch list along with "Prisoner of Beauty" and two others. I prefer to watch when all episodes are completed, as I enjoy binge-watching them.

I’m really enjoying this adaptation! It stays quite true to the novel, with just a few changes to the characters and events. The casting is spot-on; both lead actors match my vision from the book perfectly. While there are a couple of minor post-production hiccups, they don’t detract from the overall experience. The acting is excellent, the plot is engaging, and the special effects are impressive. The fight choreography is well done, and the costumes and makeup are fantastic. Additionally, there's a lovely romance that adds to the charm of the drama. Overall, I'm having a wonderful time watching this show!

When picking a drama, I look at the actors’ filmography not to see their roles but to find out if they have been in dramas I liked. I dislike censorship and their prudish and homophobic restrictions. If the female lead is not childish, the male lead is mature enough, and the script keeps me engaged, then I’m usually satisfied. However, the reality is often different.

I tend to stick to my own preferences and rarely let ratings influence my choices. I usually read the synopses—even if they aren't well written—and watch the first episode to decide whether to continue watching. It's quite rare for me to follow a currently airing drama or participate in forums or comments; I've only done this with three dramas so far. I don't have a strong preference for whether the dramas are new or old, but I do avoid certain actors or actresses that annoy me. I generally prefer completed dramas, as I have little patience. I often find myself getting bored mid-drama, as very few keep me engaged. Lol.

To minimize the amount of space used in comments, I use the spoiler button

I'm already subscribed to Viki, iqiyi , youku and tencent and I still have to wait for some bootleg on the Internet…
Same here. I also use Kisshk, but the subtitles aren't the best. Still, it's better than nothing.

Do producers even visit this platform? It seems like they care more about Weibo or Douban than MDL. I use MDL as a reference for finding actors and locating Asian dramas in one place, including the platforms where shows are aired. However, I often can't rely on the synopses because the moderators seem to prefer AI translations over well-written, comprehensive English. Additionally, the rating system feels very childish, reminding me of popularity contests in school.

The number of users who voted on MDL increased from 331 to 404 within a few hours.

This is ridiculous. There are 4.7 billion people living in Asia, plus all the western viewers who have access to this show. Yet, this forum cares about a rating determined by just 404 people?

Let's focus on the show instead. It is currently #1 on YOUKU. Who cares about the MDL rating based on only 404 votes?

She seems good. I think she'll be a couple with the snakeguy
This is often true for TV dramas. Multiple romances are popular with audiences because they create more opportunities for viewers to connect with various actors and actresses. Increased audience engagement leads to higher revenue. Dramas typically mix up characters and events, which is unavoidable given the length of web novels. Although “Offering Salted Fish to Master” is considered short with its 166 chapters. Dramas requires dialogues and characters. The novel can center on less.

I feel the same way! The relationship between them is both cute and funny. She is his weakness, and he behaves like a big, tough bear protecting his cub. It’s truly a lovely love story about two people who fell madly in love but were reluctant to admit it for a long time.

ML and FL. The "friend" was never her friend, and she died with the 99 other chosen girls.

I agree. I've noticed that they have recently been putting more effort into dramas and animations. This one is really good.
