Chinese Scriptwriters and directors are sure interesting fellows.….Incest but not in the end, but the misunderstanding…
Endless topic loll
I understand the dubbing of their own voice, but I do not know why to select another actor or actress unless they truly suck... Which is a possibility, lol
I wonder how many actors and actresses we like are truly them in the end, uh? Honest question here. Out of the 100+ and those we are swooning because of their esthetic appearance, which one borrows another voice?
It reminds me of those authors who put their name on the book, but another wrote it. Cheating, uh?

It is difficult for me to be a fan of Hello Kitty and similar. Yet millions of adults love those. I don't critic here, I personally recently discovered Donghua anime and became obsessed, and I am way past my teenage years, lol

But this disguised taboo, aka phantasms in dramas, childish actresses play, .. I do not think it is cultural, but coming from sick minds. They are lucky to work in the entertainment industry and know the tricks of censorship. Again, there is a public/fans for that. So I am puzzled.

My tolerance limit is generally 2-3 episodes. After that, the heroine must break the victim mold and show me her sasssiness, independent adult self she is supposed to have, or I drop the drama. Zero tolerance for childish voice and acting and dummy characters.

Chinese Scriptwriters and directors are sure interesting fellows.….Incest but not in the end, but the misunderstanding and idea is still there.… childish innocent young girl acting like 12 years old played by actresses from 20 to over 35… heroine bullied and humiliated… old perverts… forced seduction… dummies heroines dominated by male heroes because of course females are inferior to mighty males (sarcasm)…

Yup. Most dramas use those. Same with novels. At the endit all depends on the script, actors, and how it is portrayed, written, and played. In novels, words matter.

I have very little patience for watching those, but I understand that they can be necessary evils to justify the villains within the story.

On the other hand, we see endless standoffish kisses that look like individuals are kissing a mirror or a wall. This supposedly portraying the idea of pure eternal love. Lolll

However, once in a while, we have a perfect combination of script, directors, casting, OST, post-production team, makeup, martial arts, and costumes.. The full package.

The rise of Ning is not one of them. It is entertaining but not memorable, and at times, it's a bit annoying.

In the novel's frame story, a sentient Stone, left over when the goddess Nüwa mended the heaven aeons ago, wants to enjoy the pleasures of the "red dust" (the mundane world). The Stone begs a Taoist priest and a Buddhist monk to take it with them to see the world. The Stone, along with a companion (in Cheng-Gao versions they are merged into the same character), is then given a chance to learn from human existence, and enters the mortal realm. In the Cheng-Gao versions, he is reborn as Jia Baoyu ("Precious Jade") – thus "The Story of the Stone".

The novel provides a detailed, episodic record of life in the two branches of the wealthy, aristocratic Jia (賈) clan—the Rongguo House (榮國府) and the Ningguo House (寧國府)—who reside in large, adjacent family compounds in the capital. The capital, however, is not named, and the first chapter insists that the dynasty is indeterminate.[16] The ancestors of the two families were made Chinese nobility and given imperial titles, and as the novel begins the houses are two of the most illustrious families in the city. One of the Jia daughters is made a Royal Consort, and to suitably receive her, the family constructs the Daguanyuan, a lush landscaped garden, the setting for much of subsequent action. The novel describes the Jias' wealth and influence in great naturalistic detail, and charts the Jias' fall from the height of their prestige, following some thirty main characters and over four hundred minor ones.

As the carefree adolescent male heir of the family, Baoyu in this life has a special bond with his sickly cousin Lin Daiyu, who shares his love of music and poetry. Baoyu, however, is predestined to marry another cousin, Xue Baochai, whose grace and intelligence exemplify an ideal woman, but with whom he lacks an emotional connection. The romantic rivalry and friendship among the three characters against the backdrop of the family's declining fortunes form the central story.

Funny how people complain about FL's voice when most dubbed female voices have been even more high pitched and…
Her voice or not.… I don't like it.

I can only imagine that during the time of concubines, they would all have been vying for their husband's attention,…
All the dramas are just fiction and heavilyromanced. The social customs were extremely structured with hundreds of rules.

episode 5 …The background music when they talk is too loud.
Dang. Another poor post-production team. Sound effects and music are distracting and not that good. Makeup looks excessive. I'm not impressed. FL voice, regardless if it is her own or not, is annoying. Otherwise, Actors are decent in general.
So far, so good, still not dropping.

All the actresses went through the same makeup artist and have very thin eyebrows like my grandma used to have! 😆

Average so far. I have only watched two episodes and while there seems to be a good mystery, the FL is annoying…
Oh? But regardless of age, a 30 should be at the pic of a sexu mature woman, not playing dumb childishly.. Anyway. I don't do childish actresses. I much prefer sassy, independent sexy women. Sadly, many directors love these actings, and sure enough, there is an audience for them. Each their own tastes. Not mine

Ignore my previous comment but it's definitely worth watching. It's one of the best cdramas to ever exist if you…
This TV drama was supposed to have a second season. Like many first seasons, the director and production team chose to end the first season with a fake sad or bittersweet epilogue to keep the fanbase on their toes and motivated to watch the second season. It is a common marketing trick. It just sucks when the second season never shows up. Especially when season 1 is a hit. And unfortunately, season 2 never materialized with Princess Agents, leaving fans, including myself, extremely disappointed and frustrated. However, as a huge fan, I read comments and forums and discovered that an unofficial English-translated novel was available online. This provided me with full closure for the story and more. The novel consists of 292 chapters and is worth reading. Even though some translations are not great, it's still way better than ending on a bitter note.

Rumors say that season 2 may happen. However, it is a rumor. I hope so, but I have little hope of seeing the same cast if this is true. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

It's easier to read about JOL than to watch it. The author lost me at '46 episodes'. As much as I love and prefer…
I highly recommend reading the Mao Ni JOL novel. Despite its 746 chapters, the story is truly captivating. It's important to note that season 2 of the adaptation is only loosely based on the novel and has a significantly different storyline, while season 1 stays closer to the original. Due to budget constraints and censorship, creating a faithful adaptation of the JOL novel is simply not feasible. Both the novel and the adaptations have their own appeal and cater to different fans. Personally, I prefer books, but I also enjoy watching dramas and anime, particularly appreciating the caliber of the actors in JOL.

Article The World of Joy of Life Spoiler
Why was Fan Jian chosen to be Fan Xian's father. And are Fan Xian, Fan Ruo Ruo, and Fan Si Zhe all supposed to…
Ruoruo's mother died protecting Ye Qingmei. She disguised herself as Ye Qingmei and also disguised her newborn as Fan Xian. She was the true wife of Fan Jian. Ultimately, Ye Qingmei died a few hours after she gave birth to Fan Xian, but Fan Xian was saved. Fan Xian's mother is Ye Qingmei, and Fanzhe's mother is the concubine. However, Fan Xian's father is not Fan Jian. Fan Jian is a childhood friend of the emperor. He and Chen Pingping know that Fan Xian is the son of the emperor. They were very young when they first met Ye Qingmei. Ultimately, Ye Qingmei helped the prince to become emperor and became his mistress (she refused to marry him or become his concubine). Chen Pingping was not fit to be his father. He was already the director. However, he became his #1 protector behind the scenes. Fan Jian was the logical choice, although Fan Xian was “raised” up to 16 years old by Fan Jian's mother. Keep in mind that Fan Xian was transmigrated into a baby with the mind of a 25 years old, so he raised himself. Chen Pingping sent Jie, the poison master, to test his intelligence. Once confirmed, he became his successor/heir.

The drama gives you a very short and sometimes different version. We may never know who the mother of who and why Ruoruo's mother died. But this is the novel version.

ML is deaf but his eyes are never on the lips , and when his guard speaks behind his back, he turns immediatelyto answer him. FL is no better playing a dumb childish character. No chemistry. Standoffish kisses. Cliches all around. The concept is great. Everything else is bad.
