The female lead (FL) came across as childish, and there was no chemistry between her and the male lead (ML) on-screen. It was a poor casting decision to pair them together, as their lack of compatibility was glaringly apparent to me. It felt like he was dating a teenager. Same vibe. Furthermore, ML's acting was unconvincing when it came to portraying love, which I noticed in another drama as well. Great actor but definitely not meant for r9mance dramas.
Almost the same age, 29 and 28 but he seems way more mature. The pairing is not a good match in my opinion. Sidenote: i like him because he doesn't look like a teen AND the kisses look genuine for a change. This deserves a special mention! Lolll
I'm struggling to watch episode 3. It doesn't sound good. So, the main character goes to collect the purple pill because his aunt is in agony and near death, braving a sea tempest. However, the fairy granny says it is okay to stay longer as long as she has the purple pill. This doesn't make any sense and is completely illogical. Later on, the guy is suddenly okay with lingering and staying around, no longer caring about his aunt. They look like boy and girl versus man and woman. yet she is pregnant and married? and yes, I know that in real life they are respectively 27 and 24. It irks me when scripts are messy, edits are not done correctly. This director needs to be mentored.... Truly disappointing... guys I am counting on you to let me know if it gets better
So far, I like He Yu and not Yang Yu Tong. And here, once again, there is a director who loves to have fish kiss scenes, where the female actress's lips do not move, her eyes are open, and she stands still as if she was struck by lightning. This annoys me so much
It's a shame that season 2 of this drama was never produced or aired. The novel provided me with the closure that I didn't receive from the final episode of season 1. This drama remains in my top 5. All the actors and actresses are outstanding, but the top 3 main actors are just incredible.
Chinese censorship may or may not accept the drama. If they find anything against their guidelines not respected, producers must change the parts and resubmit their approbation. It may take years before it can be aired.
Do directors ask actresses to keep their mouths slightly open to look sexy, or is it a deliberate choice from the actress to make it her signature like Angelbaby? I find it annoying.
I'm feeling bored at the moment. Have you noticed any poorly edited scenes in some episodes? I have two examples in mind.
Firstly, in episode 7, when the main character is writing his poem, we see him from the back and he appears to be acting crazy while writing. However, when the camera changes to a front view, he acts normally. There are two different plays happening in the same scene.
Secondly, in episode 28, the main character puts a key inside his belt on his back. But when he gets shot with an arrow, the arrow is shown way above his belt. Later, when he is confronted, he has no wound and claims the arrow touched the key. There is a noticeable difference between where the arrow should have pierced his clothes and where it actually hit.
I'm always amazed at how these mistakes weren't caught during the final editing process..
Play with me, have you seen others? (please use the spoiler option)
