Yes happy ending. No open. Main couple is together and in love Some viewers missed “the hug” at the reunion. They felt it was not truly happy. But if we look closely… she cried and he was teary. The BTS showed an attempt of hugging but her hat made it awkward. They opted (wrongly in my opinion) to the stare. I think they missed the finale. A kiss would have been fantastic but obviously it was directed by a prude direction.
Sad note… check the story of this movie on wiki :(
I was about to give up on this drama. I started watching due to the high score rating here but the first few episodes…
Ah! I am at episode 10…. Exactly that! Cheesy and childish. I am tired of the grumpy hate everyone ML, tired of wuxin who is supposed to beat everyone but loose battles, tired of the girls. Bad edits all around. The only one I tolerate is Ao Rui. Ok… will push up to 13 lol
And what the freaking heck the girl with a moustache? Her face is 100% girl even with a mask.
The main focus is the FL. it happens (xu Kai) the prince, then crown prince, then emperor falls in love hard with FL. FL on the other hand put her « career » cook first. I do not think you will find the typical arrocant scheming xu kai here. He is acting very well but his character is different as his usual roles
I noticed a change in the acting style of Xu Kai in this drama. His character lacked his usual arrogance and seemed to be overshadowed by the female lead who played the main character. It was a very different Xu Kai, and even though I was just okay with the character, I thought his skills were remarkable as it showed a different side of his acting. However, I want to clarify that his acting wasn't bad; considering the story, there was no other choice for his character. The second part of the drama was much better, as is usually the case. Overall, it is definitely worth watching as it is different and I also learned a lot about the palace kitchen rules. However, I found the female lead a bit cold, and the chemistry between her and Xu Kai was almost inexistent (which was the female lead's fault, not Xu Kai's). Additionally, the pace was very slow. The villains were more mental rather than physical. Although my comment may not sound flattering, it is a good drama. I started to like Xu Kai more after watching this drama. He's an actor who becomes more attractive as he ages, and I can understand his appeal to a younger audience as well in wuxia or xianxia dramas. I disliked him in some and liked him in others. So it looks like director and scriptwriter are playing a big part on his career. His talent is real but everything else is a gamble.
I can't help but notice that Episode 4 has many bad edits. Frankly, I think those directors are amateurs. They made the heroes escape with three horses, only to have them walk in the next set. And to top it off, the hero has no martial arts skills (which we all knew he had), yet he can escape the villains and jumps in the air like Wuxin, but he never shows or admits he has until the end of the episode. It's completely absurd! I'm not sure about Wuxin's age; he's supposed to be 17 (5 + 12), but he looks more like 25 to me. Personally, I don't find him attractive with his bald head. I was interested in watching a story about brotherhood, but so far I'm disappointed. I'm not sure if I'll keep watching.
This not a review place but a chat. AND you spoil the fun of everyone.
I haven't seen this drama yet. Your review was the first I read. There are two types of people: those who respect others and use the spoiler button, and those who selfishly ruin the fun for everyone desperately in need of spotlight
When an actor has many pending dramas, it often signals tax or legal issues. The novel is available, but I'm disappointed that the drama won't air what looks anytime soon
