I loved the leads in Arsenal Military Academy and Xu Kai in Legends and Lingjian mountain but I was disappointed in this drama. Everything was okay. Xu Kai was good but didn’t seem to have much chemistry with the FL. The story started briskly and was fairly straightforward and entertaining but the various threads never really formed a cohesive narrative and while there were some fun moments it is a forgettable drama. The secondary characters were fun, but again the mythology wasn’t really explored very well. I assume it was meant to highlight the dangers of racism, which is a timely theme but even that just sort of fizzled out in the end. Really, just meh. I was hoping for better.
