Ep 10 - 14:00-16:00 is good but especially 14-14:55 GJ's micro-expressions are absolutely on point.

Yes I was lost too at this part. It was so boring lol.

Although they're not essential, they're there to show us the magnitude of Blood River, Shadow Sect, Three Officials & Imperial web. The web is HUGE. And that is why it'll take 40 episodes to dissect through it all. I don't think they spend a lot of time on the unimportant/supportive roles but just enough so that we can get an understanding of who's who and their importance to the plot/different arcs. This is why when people say the first 1-11 episodes are too fast-paced and there are so many characters being introduced without an explanation, I don't agree with. We've got to get through the anime fast to get to what happens after Ep 11 & 12; and with a new arc beginning (after Ep 16) there's going to be a roster of new characters and so far (up to 17) they've balanced it well. I think in Ep 18-19 there's even more characters being introduced. But you are right, when the screen doesn't have SMY or SCH or BHH in it I am a little sad. But without all the characters, there will be no plot. These three can't stand alone.

Also, SMY is merciful...that's what is stopping him from using it to its true power; it's not the technique per se. SMY is intentionally not using it as a killer machine like most assassins. SCH mentioned it in EP 16 after they defeated the 3 elders.

Oh I shared a different opinion yesterday. I think it's too powerful. Like it's too "bullet proof". I need this technique to fall short during a fight scene or two to make it believable. Right now, the 18-sword array is unstoppable (except the Palm technique) and hasn't really found its match yet. But we'll see!

I saw a scene where SMY laid her down on some steps and she doesn't look so good.....and he looks like he's injured and is in distress (white/red robe still in black hair). 😵‍💫😭😭😭😫😖😩😣☹️

SMY & BHH relationship is very subtle. Having seen Ep 14 you should sense that he does like her but being SMY he's not going to overwhelmingly show that side; honestly I don't think he knows how to. 🤣

Yes. For slower episodes (which there has been a few) I feel like they should give two episodes to maintain the audience interests/keep us talking.

Don't know about the novel but for Ep 1-11 it follows the anime very closely. After Ep 11, whether it follows the novel or not, don't know.
