You must have read the short Netflix synopsis, as I did, too. My expectation after reading it, the romance is an enemies-to-lovers trope. So the ML will hate FL's fam first, then fall for FL. But it turns out lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers trope. Initially, ML wanted to be a physician and had a heart for people, so naturally, he's a nice guy. Making him a mean person straight after the massacre will be inconsistent with his nature.
There is no significant time jump, like one year later, or something like that. Probably, only at the end, but that's a big spoiler 😊.
