For modern thinking it seems ML oversteps his boundary by buying a strange kid candy. But I think because his thinking is from Republican Era. Way back during Republican Era candies were expensive. He was also abandoned by his mom. So he has a soft spot for kids. He was also nice to a kid during film shooting in the Republican scene.

That's only Langda's side of the story. We don't know what actually happened. He might as well sent someone to kill Chi Yu.

So there is a past FL by the name of Jin Zi... this drama becomes very intriguing in the mystery part. They should add 'Mystery' genre. Now I'm more interested in both Qin Yu and Chi Yu's mysteries and their problems than the romance arc.

I want to see Chi Yu in the past tho, and I hope they solve each other's mystery and fix each other's personal issue.

Yes I think so too, I was only confused cos he wears Republican Era suit, but at that time Qin Yu is already adapted to modern life and wears modern clothes.

I'm confused... there is this short scene where a guard is watching an old movie of Qin Yu, then Qin Yu/Chi Yu comes and asks him for the exit. Who is he? Qin Yu or Chi Yu?

I don't think so, from the synopsis and trailer I assume it seems they're already lovers but he's a rich boy and his parents hold a high position, so probably they disagree and she gets bullied so she runs away. Because in the trailer she tells him: "if you love your daughter and truly worry about her safety, don't visit her again". That 'safety' word got me thinking that.
