We need someone who can shoot the story without bias. Yes TJC brought in the investors but everyone played their part to bring this story to life.
For me who likes both Jing and XL, if either one of them has shortcomings, I will say he has that shortcoming. To see some commenters go all out to bash Jing does not seem fair to me because Jing has many good points also.

True, I was so sad for baby boy Feng Long. He left way too soon and only experienced unrequited love from CX. 🤪😂🤣
The remnant ChenRong army was fighting for a lost cause. The Chenrong people have since moved on and the nation is prosperous. But I guess from the POV of the rebels, it's about their pride and principles.
As a king who wants unification, CX could have a secret meeting with Hong Jiang and come up with something where the rebels can just stay in their mountain hideout and nothing will happen as long as they do not come out to hurt civilians. They could drop pamphlets on the mountain informing the remnant ChenRong army that anyone who wants to call it quits and go home will not be charged. Their families can also get to send letters to them. Set up an Embassy in Qingshui town for the rebels to be registered as a proper citizen of DaHaung and send them home to their families. I think maybe over another 200 years many soldiers might just want to call it quits and go home. This is the long route to unification but it has no bloodshed.
A war means casualties on both sides. Feng Long was one of them. XL got his glorious death, but I am sure most of us would have preferred that even he did not die.
