Yes, you are right. When we first watched it, we considered it an Open Ending and understood that there were not enough episodes to follow closely as per the novel.
But the heart wants what it wants. How it concluded was not enough for us. We so badly wanted to see that ending from the novel. It would have been closure for many of us who have bawled our eyes out in the last episodes. Anyways....it is what it is. 😄
