I found it interesting that there is a significant difference in the evaluation of BingChang between Chinese and…
It is an interesting point that you raised.
I think it's probably culture, customs and the folk lore Chinese and non Chinese audiences grew up with. If we look at retail, we will also see companies tweaking their advertisements for the various markets in their portfolio, otherewise sometimes the ads may seem offensive as people from another culture don't get the humour etc.
I also notice that Cdramas do a great show and tell or educate in this case. In the case of TTEOTM, they show that yes, the characters were born into situations not of their choosing. Eg, TTJ, was chosen as the vessel of the ADG. But TTJ overcame his fate of becoming a devil and choose his own way and went off in a blaze of glory saving the world. It is inspiring to folks to know what you are born into is not the end all and be all, one can rise above circumstances and be better.
Unfortunately due to the cuts to meet the 40 episode regulation, we do not see much of YBC's story. I guess for her part, will need to read the novel to be able to comment more. But in the later episodes, she did seem to have a change of heart after meeting Xiao Lin v2.0 and wanted to leave her evil life to be with him.
I have been using eyeshadow palettes from this series, and the colors are really beautiful.ππ
Btw, if you don't mind sharing, I was wondering:
1. How is the texture? Satiny smooth and silky? 2. Are the colours bold when applied or multiple layers are needed for the colours to show. 3. Can it last a day in the office? Or touch ups are needed?
He sounded impressed as he looked at the eye shadows. πI like the colors in the cat palette. They are so wearable!…
Yes, it looks like of the lot pf eye shadow palettes that Xixi was promoting back then, the cat palette is still in circulation. I don't see the rest anymore.
Stumbled across Xixi's old Perfect Diary endorsement BTS. He seems quite excited about the eye shadow colours. I guess as an actor, he must be very used to having some makeup on most of the time for TV appearances, livestream etc When he gets a girlfriend (BL hopefully), they can share makeup! Especially eye shadow palettes. LOL π¨π
This made me laugh, Xixi's anti-fans are so blind.https://twitter.com/Xixiko0728/status/1669491736526360576
Wow, Xixi gets a wax figure at Mdm Tussaud's? Nice!
I can imagine the haters slapping themselves now. LOL Gosh, those haters really need to get their facts right before saying anything about Xixi. And, most importantly, they need to ask themselves what hurt them so badly that they are taking it all out on Xixi? Did someone make fun of their weight? Height? Talents? Some self reflection is needed. Peace and loveβοΈποΈβ€οΈ
Let me start by saying it pains me so very deeply to rate this drama lower than 10 because I love Bai Lu so much…
To be fair, the drama had been slashed from 56 episodes to 40 episodes to adhere to new regulations. And the Youku team managed to get the drama out amid censorship drama brewing in the background, which we are all grateful for. This also meant many beloved scenes which explained and built character had to be sacrificed so that we could have the drama air. If you don't already know, Bai Lu's "Story of Kunning Palace" was one such victim of the censorship drama. I believe most people would rather have the show air than totally not be able to see it.
Overall the good things in the show outweighed the "bad" things mentioned. Reading the novel will also help put a lot of things into perspective. You can also go into the discussion threads above to read the explanations put up by folks who have read the book.
PS. Do note that no Xianxia drama is complete without blood spitting. π

Thanks!
I like the meowy one. Looks very easy to match with anything. The wolf one which Xixi seemed very excited about the colours is also very nice.

Dang I could watch those 2 kiss all day. ππ€£ππ€‘
Now all we need is confirmation that they are a couple. Perfection!
