It feels more like some people finally found a reason to attack this drama.
If you are disappointed because you think a high-budget production should not be using AI, then the truth is that this drama was never a high-budget project.
It only started receiving attention from iQIYI and WeTV after Zhang Linghe’s military look went viral across the internet during the first few days of filming last year. Even the director said he had not expected the platforms to suddenly start paying attention to the drama.
Republican-era dramas have been largely ignored for nearly a decade, and it has been a long time since one became genuinely popular.
