It’s also worth nothing Bencheng is likely to walk away from it all, sacrificing his brother. Which opens up the possibility of the ML completing that task of getting justice for his family. He’s in jail, but I seriously doubt he’ll be left in there for the remainder of the show. So we can’t be sure LZ will finish it all off, not yet, not with six episodes left. Perhaps she’s just doing her part, but that’s pure speculation, I know nothing for sure.

Title The Heir Spoiler

I have a slightly different take, the writing is very realistic on what people can accomplish. In the teen episodes Li Zhen would’ve failed without the ML coming in and helping several times. She coudln’t have done it alone or without his aid at several key points.

Yet, when she needs to help the ML out he’s suddenly worthless, and it’s only her accomplishing things? I disagree. he gave a good accounting of himself in the fight, until the people with swords showed up. Surrendering was the only option left to him since this isn’t a ridiculous Wu Xia where the male lead can take on an army by himself.

Lastly, the supposed superwoman would’ve failed horribly and been framed and outmaneuvered if not for the other inkmakers coming in and supporting the Li family.

This story is deep. It’s about family, sowing seeds, reciprocity, and that no one, not even a male lead, can do it alone. I for one am enjoying the story very much. The leads have accomplished what they have because of their approach to life, helping others, keeping to their word, and not being greedy. They’ve built a true win-win community of support, and that’s the only reason she succeeded in recent episodes.

The FL isn’t the heroine of everything, merely a catalyst and someone that other’s admire and want to help out of reciprocity. Anyway, that’s my take on it.
