I didn't see ep 10 yet but based on it's preview they are really dragging this out. And agreed. If she's dumping him, why make that statement to begin with. lol. The writers just wanted to be dramatic and make her give him hope and then say no. I am hoping the last 4 episodes can help this drama redeem itself because I had such high expectations. Every time I start enjoying it again, something ridiculous happens.

The fact that they were half brothers makes this whole thing sadder. And they even revealed that he was in Korea for the transplant and then he left for USA. Did it never cross his mind even once the coincidence that Jin Woo died and donated his organs around the same time that he received a heart transplant? I don't know why but I keep finding Cha Young Woon a bit shady. Something about him doesn't quite sit right with me. Why did Park Ki Young hate his family so much? Was it simply jealousy? He said they use humans. He didn't just form this opinion after the transplant. He's been obsessed with him for a while.
One thing that is really annoying me about this drama is that it seems the main leads are purposely written a bit slow. When the audience has guessed what has happened ages ago and are simply waiting for the story's characters to catch up, it's disappointing. And of course the trope where the bad guy says, "I know what you don't but I'm not gonna tell you!". Okay then stop talking about it. :/
I wonder if this show is pulling a Mouse where Jin Woo's heart is transplanted to Young Woon, that's why he started having feelings for Young Joo. Because I was getting the feeling initially that Jin Woo likes her but he would say that she and his brother make a good couple. Plus Young Woo's personality also changed quite a bit after the transplant. His parents also seemed a bit surprised when he said he wants to marry Young Joo.
Not sure how you came to this conclusion from the books or the show, if you actually read or watched at all. So…

Yup. Most families would have questioned the doctors who wouldn't let him meet his brother and then suddenly declare him brain dead. As a police officer he should have been more suspicious. And he could have asked for an autopsy report from the staff he knew. He would have discovered the missing heart. I'm a little disappointed with the writing.

Yes, his brother could send a hitman. We'd have to assume he didn't or it was no longer relevant to Dong Joo what was happening with those brothers. He managed to publish a second novel and was happy with that. Dong Joo may talk about killing bad guys but he's too moral to actually want to kill or harm Myung Seok. He is kind of aloof. Luckily he had a childhood bestie who was supportive of him. And now he has a brother in Kang San and Ha Neul. I actually was feeling bad initially for LMS when DJ would hang up on him or ignore him. I guess DJ read his character pretty well and knew this man is not worthy of giving too much attention. And LMS undid all the good he did by eventually showing his true colours. Publishing the book was just a good business decision and he never cared about anything else. Though at first I thought he would steal the book when DJ gave it to him to read. Which is why I am letting go of my dissatisfaction of how things went for him. Plus he was a small fry in the whole story which might be another reason that Dong Joo didn't really bother with him too much. And he felt guilty for calling the manuscript his own even though neither Kang San and Ha Neul really cared about that. I'm not frustrated because of them. I'm annoyed as a viewer because they managed to divert people's anger at the wrong thing. People ignored the murders and focused on the plagiarism. Is that realistic? Yes, of course! Happens all the time. That's why we watch dramas so we can feel gratified when bad characters get what's coming to them. :P I don't think you're unfriendly by the way. You are very helpful and detailed and I like that about you. <3 And you've really gone into the depths of each character which is quite impressive!
