all business and zero romance

This is my first review (written mostly because it is a waste of the actors)
I want to say first that I love shows based on books because the characters tend to be more three-dimensional. Here we get NO idea why people get together, or break up or basically why anything happens.

It seems the screenplay writers focused on the workplace and less on the characters. The main character comes off very shallow and just plain dumb.

The pacing of characters like Jeng, his character goes from one end to the other almost overnight.
You will love or hate it...

in general, I agree with most that it's still worth a try....if you like to yell at the TV screen.

bromance or BL? It's the Perth show

Without giving away any spoilers I can say episode one would make most people stop watching this,,, the only reason to power through is Perth who rises beyond an inconsistent tone, and a script that wants to be five things at once.

Let's jump to the cons: NO chemistry between the lead couple and the potential romance is built on a transactional relationship, you help me pass a test and we can play video games. I spent the first few episodes wondering if the leads were asexual celibate as they expressed no interest in each other. The script and directors didn't help, "pass your test...for me" is the closest thing to a romance or a bromance with occasional hugs.

The title is "dangerous romance" but the romance is miscast, and only one of the actors is believable: Perth, is the star attraction, and the only reason to watch this messy melodrama...the other actor with Perth is just phoning it in and doesn't want to be near Perth. Fake kisses speak volumes.

I found myself wanting to fast forward because everything seemed forced and watching people trying to act and only one person was believable in the role.

to call this "dangerous" would mean that studying hard will give you a papercut. It could be dangerous because at one point the Perth character likes two people at once. It's confusing and dangerous to keep watching awkward confusion.

That being said, the question is, should I watch it...YES, if you like the actors and watch without the sound. And can ignore the lack of anything romantic...then enjoy

It's BL-Light with a worthy cast in a worthy new world

I watched this for the BL element but quickly understood that this is set in a world that sometimes feels like exploring a culture of small towns, farms, and places you want to leave when you grow up.

Let's start with the BL light, without offering spoilers the scenes seem more like a bromance experiment and don't qualify as a romance or even love. It just happens and then it disappears like leftovers you toss away. The character played by
Frank Thanatsaran Samthonglai looks like a supermodel who wanders into the village and nobody says anything about it. His acting here is convincing as a figuring-it-out way. If there was a true BL spin-off maybe this Frank couple could have potential as a couple that has a shot. It has hints of a BL couple in the making...but that doesn't show up here...

Overall, the Music and other stories are authentic and equally confusing because romance seems very low on the list of things this show wants to showcase. And that's okay too.

Sad Time Travel mystery

I watched all the episodes stuck in an endless, sometimes long, repetitive state of dread. Asking the basic question, why are these two together? The script based on a book develops characters that are in love but have really bad communication skills, chemistry, or have any attraction beyond crying together.

Without any spoilers, WHAT's MISSING:

the moments that show the happiness of a relationship,
navigating a first romance,
or becoming a couple and showing the good and bad of a couple that likes each other enough to have intimacy.

Instead, we get a lot of unnecessary drama but never fully see a main couple with chemistry or

why they belong together is absent and the gloom and doom tone we get is the opposite of a butterfly stomach of first love.

The logic of some of the character's actions, or the mystery isn't enough to garner any re-watch value. But, if you get past the first episode you almost have NO choice but to suffer in silence until the end.

only grindr fans who hate romance

Firstly, this is a very watchable departure from the standard BL mode. This is both bad and good...bad that it wasted the actors on a hook-up culture that leaves little room for anything that resembles love or intimacy. And good in the sense that you have good-looking couples with chemistry stepping on and crushing the BL mode. It's great to experiment and change things up..this goes a little too far in the direction of only-fans or the opposite of a romantic comedy.

The story is basically each character getting out of their underwear to pass the time on conquests and cruel mind games with others. Toss in drama drama drama and you have a recipe for a hot mess. But, strangely if you get past episode two you can't stop watching. Like with most trainwrecks or messy characters, you root for them to redeem themselves or have fun yelling at the screen when characters do unnecessary bad things to other people.

In the end, I hope this opens conversations and expands future BL shows to show the many different sides of relationships. I tend to connect more with romance, and less trashy characters but maybe there's a way to do both or watch create watchable variations like is show...

but also that can give viewers hope that love exists.

second rewatching made me smile & yell at the screen

You're going to watch it anyway. Nothing i saw will stop that...we can all agree the casting of supermodels works for any series.
But, my review is going to focus on the key things future BL producers can learn from. And key things future BL producers can avoid from someone who watched it twice.

The reason this gets nine out of ten starts with some of the obvious key things future BL producers can learn from this BL;
casting will get you to the table, having the two main leads almost smash or get romantic in the first episode will keep you coming back to follow the progress.

The NINE of Ten is when a show TELLS me in ALL CAPS that love is in the air and we will see the flow of it and smile each time they get closer to it. We root and we yell at the screen when small obstacles are put in the way. That is why this is a NINE here.

That is a delicate dance that most BL producers don't get, which starts off - future thing BL producers can avoid. We don't need car crashes, or a rush to the hospital scenes, or an ex-girlfriend a new character showing up to mess up the romance. The day-to-day figuring out how two people make space for a new love, open their hearts to love and the daily scenes of two people enjoying learning about each other is enough.

Leave the drama for your momma...love and dating and creating intimacy between two characters has a whole list of complications. Here we get some of that with a few doses of humor. We can always have more intimacy here and and future BLs. But I digress.

In summary,
* the story is totally unrealistic,
* the script is taped together from swisscheese,
* the chemistry between the couples is inconsistent.
* One of the main leads is just dumb and will make you yell at the screen. The dumb lead character has what I call "unnecessary drama" meltdowns that could be solved with clear communication instead of storming off into the night.

The beginning and ending are good enough to make you smile, the humor between the couples sets the right tone but it lacks intimacy.

But, hey I watched it twice...

and it is still a nine out of ten.

GO watch for yourself

second time's is the charm here

this is my second viewing, and I found new layers of teenage angst that I missed on the first viewing. Overall, we have a story that is based on a book and badly directed and horrible cinematography...and YET...

there's an urgency to the actions of the main couple, that hits for anyone that experienced that first teenage love. Where every moment together is super important. The two mains Tee and Mork are not winning awards for acting but there is a genuine chemistry that will have you pulling for them seemingly against all odds. Two people who should never work finding a way to do it anyway.

A lot of the scenes feel out of date and stray and seem all over the place. The story drags at times but at its best, it shows two people learning how to care for each other. And we can all use a little romantic optimism nowadays.

That's why I gave it a nine out of ten.

A complicated hookup with tiny sprinkes of bittersweets

I stopped watching this after the first hour because of the slow and pointless nature of the main couple's actions. The very slow-paced slow motion life did not touch me...

and I'm guessing we are supposed to understand the characters doing mundane stuff. Months later, I came back to the show to be tortured some more. The second couple was less complicated and had hints of hope and something resembling romance. The main couple just sat there being dramatic and well, complicated. The main couple's pointless actions eventually grew on me as the back story was revealed but I never fully understood the why. Like why are we here? And just why, why why

The acting is top-notch, and the visuals are moody and interesting. The story of a hook-up culture trying to be something more is not really a fun watch. But, it's closer to a bittersweet independent film that people force you to watch to say how life is horrible and we will all die alone. And after the torture of watching it you are supposed to be happy about your own life...I guess.

I'm being a bit dramatic, I mean, after all, I gave it a nine out of ten.

Mean Girls without a plot

This is a re-watch, meaning I watched a year ago in confusion with a lot of fast-forwarding because the pacing was pointless and slow. However, one of the leads is in a new BL that I finished, Bank Nuttawatt Thanathaveeprasert newer role is "Destiny Seeker"

So of course I had to see how he improved or what went wrong then and now. The Sea actors here is good and convincing and so are most of the actors. Doing their best with a story without a story. I'm back to talking about Friend Forever.

Without Spoilers the character don't really engage in romance, it's hinted for 90 percent of the show. And the last episode gets the first and only kiss of all 12 episodes. So calling it a Bromance or friendship with no benefits is more accurate. The idea of consistency or feelings becoming something close to love. Any expression of two people that want to be together in a romantic I need you, or we are forever is not here. The mean girls' or bullys in the school was pointless and not realistic. People being mean and then not mean for no good reason

That being said I gave it a seven rating because of the actors and a few accidentally passable scenes and the potential of them getting better scripts.

Dumb and Dumber with time travel

I love that they used a novel as the source material for this show because books spend more time on the emotional arcs of the main characters. This one is worth watching for the last few episodes...but...but

But, here some things got lost in the translation from three three-dimensional characters in a novel to what we see finally from one of the main characters...

let's call it a basic-b syndrome or a cardboard cut-out of a closed heart and true hating of anything related to happiness. I'm being kind here...

It could be the casting. I read one of the leads was recast at the last moment. Or they used a shredder to the original concept and improvised the worst parts of a selfish human being and did that for a few episodes. I'm complaining because I like the concept, and the actors are good...

You can punch holes in the rules of time travel and probably when things finally get to a hint of romance. I have questions about how one of the characters magically becomes less dumb.

Why was I yelling at the screen at the actions of one of the leads (no spoilers)...but you will know what I mean when you see it.

That's the big question: will you stick with it and get to the good parts? YES, I believe in time travel and I've seen your future. You will have to see how it ends. And that's why I grudgingly give an overall 9 out of 10 because I have NO choice.

It gets better if you can survive past Episode one

The lead actors are doing their best with an uneven script that has a lot in the way of anything resembling a romance. That is until something clicks for no good reason or no explanation then

...it kicks into high gear and we see chemistry that should have been in earlier. A lot earlier. I blame the script, editing, and director for wanting to be so many things other than a love story.

Without giving any spoilers, there are several couples and only one makes sense as simple we belong together and it isn't the main couple.

But I give it a 9.5 for the last few episodes, if you can last that long you will see why.
