I wasn’t expecting much from this drama, I’ll be the first to admit it. I don’t usually enjoy modern Chinese dramas and the storyline seemed bland. However, I’m completely sold. Even If the plot wasn’t particularly innovative, everything else was done marvelously: from the acting, to the dialogs, production, direction... You feel completely immersed in the story and even if the story is more of the lighthearted, feel-good kind, there is still that necessary little sprinkle of melodrama to make it engaging and interesting. Recommend to all romantic people who would like a modern Cinderella story with interesting, charming main characters and redeemable, realistic “antagonists” (if you can even call them that).
