Many people recommended watching SIGNAL after the 'tunnel'. Honestly, I still think tunnel has more potential.…
The comment I was searching for. I watched Tunnel first and then Signal and it is quite disappointing with all those plots thrown in and heavy, deeply rooted corruption. They didn't even manage to save many innocent lives except the one case of supermarket guy. Other thing, them brushing off it's a loop with one sentence in final episode is also a major turn off.
Also, their variable to break the loop is lame to me.
I love him in 'Life on Mars'. Want to watch him more but I'm not sure of what to watch. Like medical genre isn't exactly my cup of tea. Plus, these days, I only prefer thriller, crime and action dramas. Anything else, I end up dropping after 10-30 minutes of ep 1. And I couldn't find link to watch 'Cruel City'.
I appreciate how the team personally visited all the victims family member's in end to tell them the murderer…
Love the end but can't stop myself from thinking of an alternate ending.
How I wish that after Kwang Ho went back home, the final HEA was in present timeline i.e Yeon Ho is woken up by her mom for going to work. She realises it's the same house but filled with many happy memories that keep flooding in, replacing the older sad ones (like the one at beach where she keeps blowing whistle and there's no one around) Then she visits the station and gets to know that her aged father is working there, maybe as Station Chief and Sung Shik is still the serious crime unit's chief. But only she and maybe Sun Jae recognises that things have changed as they were standing near Tunnel. She was in pain when he walked away at night and the next morning, she has parents and many happy memories. Then she went to check old newspapers with Sun Jae where they realize Kwang Ho arrested the killer in past and the case was closed long ago.
Or else, she straight-up meets her aged parents as soon as she went back home from Tunnel location.
My watch sequence went like Tunnel > Signal > Life on Mars. So I felt disappointed in end of Signal and Life on Mars because first is incomplete and in second, Tae Joo more or less committed suicide to live in the dream world.
I shouldn't be so attached to drama but this is makes me so sad.
I love the drama. But I don't like the method Tae Joo used for going back to the 1988.
Love the suspense they tried to build. I don't even know what kind of end I expected to see. But the point where Tae Joo jumped down from building felt kinda over the top. I knew that he is going to live in 1988 but not like by committing suicide. That's how "I" interpret this, that's how the other world and his mom in 2018 will do as he was taking anti-depressants as well. It's cruel to his mom who struggled while he was in coma.
I don't usually mind such things but maybe because they made it clear that it was his subconscious that created the whole world and 4 main characters based on the cold case he had read about makes it crazy!
9/10 times I skip flashback and repetitive scenes but the intro scene in 2-14 episode became my favourite. I loved to see him questioning the existence in the beginning of each episode.
Life on Mars... hmmm... I assumed the word Mars represents a foreign world. I forgot the most important point, the life we are talking about in this world doesn't exist.
S1 Ends with "If you don't give up, there is hope"
I hope, they will air S2 soon! Also, since there's nothing mentioned for Ahn Jae Hong, maybe he is the future person in S2 who somehow conveyed the "don't go to hospital" msg.
I appreciate how the team personally visited all the victims family member's in end to tell them the murderer has been arrested.
My favourite character is Jae Yi. It's rare that my favourite character is female mc and not some supporting character or male mc. She is one hell of a wise, straightforward, brave and reserved character. She is not the annoying female mc who will hinder the investigation for some stupid reason.
Also, the poster on profile doesn't do enough justice to how pretty she is with the small hair cut in drama. In beginning, I thought she is killer too because of haircut change.
I loved the chemistry and heartwarming moments between Sun Jae and Jae Yi. It was great to see Sun Jae who didn't like her at first then heard her story and started to care for her. She slowly opened up to him. For a minute, I felt they should have more screen time together even when I hate adding romance in crime thrillers.
And my heartbroke every time Kwang Ho jumped through time. Glad Sung Shik still have him in the end.
