Yeah, submissive is a wrong word but still he is soft for hesimu and strict to others throughout the novel and drama is doing that so far. But drama has added some new scenes while in the novel supernatural world been given lesser time. It's a small novel to make 40 epi drama out of it they must add new scenes but so far they are still closely following the novel.
I do hope that they don't deviate too far from the novel that it would become difficult to tie up the story.
For those who are comparing it to blue whisper. Well, this is a totally different story and concept from the blue whisper. Blue whisper had against around 80% of the drama and it was too much for me.
Now The sensory exchange shown so far in this drama has all been done according to the novel. But I understand everyone is not going to like it. Duanxu has been acting as a general throughout most of the episodes so far and those who have read the novel they know he will be back in action once he goes back to mortal world.There is a reason why duanxu desperately attaches himself to hesimu ( as he is someone who craves for love which have been missing in his home and throughout his life so far).And then the character like hesimu, to win her love you have to show her how serious you are about her and duanxu is exactly doing it, may be his way is not of everyone' s liking as they are used seeing their male leads act in a certain way. Many don't like their ML soft ( editting out submissive word as it doesn't fit his character at all).
Talking about watching this drama only because of the leads, there are worse dramas out there with lesser known and poor actors , worse script but they still become very popular.While in this case even the source novel of this drama is popular and loved.

If you liked fangs of fortune than vos is the type to go for But lbtg has a mix of both wuxia and supernatural theme , it romance, political intrigue and war in human world and supernatural theme with its own world building. Ml and Fl just don't fall far love out of no were and they both have a very good chemistry.
It sad to see, they really ramp it up in episode 15 and 16.... it borderline cheesy and kind of ruined the experience.

They only want to create a situation for this drama were more and more fans throw money on their site to get the heat index moving as reba's fans are infamous for big purchasing power while they won't let heat index move to create a situation of urgency between fans, so they throw more money.

Well, I think lbtg has very good source novel and the drama team has done a good job with it so far. He simu character is such complex and hard character to play and I am very happy that she took this project. Also this story is going to become more interesting with further episodes you will see.
Regarding too many haters, I am seeing them on mdl and some of them on reddit. They are not attacking reba directly on X as of now for many reasons. So they are coming on these sites with full force. But what I love that with this drama there are many passerby who are actually appreciating Reba's talent.
So , I am fine with reba doing a very good idol drama with complex story and Good character like lbtg once in a while because we all know many viewers don't watch serious dramas that much. But yes I also want her to keep taking serious roles too because no one is going to sustain their career for long if they are only going to do idol dramas.
Also I was reading the source novel of that doll game novel which chen duling is doing and that one is fantastic novel. If they adapt that novel nicely it could become something brilliant like "Alice in borderland". I want reba to try this genre too. ( As I love this genre so much)
